Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a regular-sized cupcake pan with 24 cupcake liners.
Step 2
In a stand mixer or a large bowl with a hand mixer, cream together butter and brown sugar. Add apple butter, vanilla, water, and eggs, blend well. Add flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves and mix well.
Step 3
Spoon approximately 3 tablespoons of batter into each cupcake liner.
Step 4
Bake cupcakes for 17-20 minutes until tops of cupcakes spring back when lightly touched or a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
Step 5
In a mixer, add butter, apple butter, vanilla, and ground cinnamon. Slowly add in confectioners' sugar until all 4 cups are added. If too thick, add 1 tablespoon of milk at a time until reaching desired consistency.
