Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Line baking dish with parchment paper. Carefully measure the sugar, butter/margarine, water, vanilla, Bisquick, and cocoa and add to a large bowl. Lightly whisk the eggs before adding to the bowl.

Using a hand mixer, slowly blend all of the ingredients until smooth. Gently stir in any optional extras. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish.
Step 4
Bake for 18-25 minutes, checking after 18 minutes. Brownies are done when a toothpick comes out with just a few crumbs.
Step 5
Leave to cool before cutting into squares.
