Step 1
Put the coffee grounds in a French press. Add the hot water. Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes, then push the plunger down and pour into a mug.
Step 2
While the coffee is steeping, pour the milk into a small pot and heat to medium-high. Heat the milk to 140-150 F — use a food thermometer to test the temperature.
Step 3
Pour the hot milk into a large container (ideally one with a spout) and use a handheld frothing wand to froth the hot milk, which should take 3 minutes.
Step 4
Pour the frothed milk into the mug on top of the coffee. It should be very foamy on top. Add sweetener now if needed. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.
Step 5
Add optional whipped cream if desired.
