Export 5 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Separate the Eggs. Put the Egg Whites in the fridge covered. Put the Egg Yolks in a chilled Bowl to begin mixing
Step 2
Whisk the yolks with the sugar (I use an electric mixer) Whisk until smooth
Step 3
Whisk in Milk, Cream and booze if using
Step 4
Cover this mixture and refrigerate for an hour at least
Step 5
Before serving, whisk the Egg Whites. You really will want to use an electric mixer now - whisk until they egg whites are foamy and stiff!
Step 6
Get out the other mixture and fold the egg whites in. BE GENTLE. This is why the eggnog is so fluffy and whipped - the egg whites can't get beat up too much!
Step 7
Serve - you can store in the fridge if you need to - it will keep for at least 2 days in the fridge. You may need an additional stir before serving
Step 8
Garnish with some fresh nutmeg on top
