Export 4 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
You will need the following cooking equipment:: medium saucepan, whisk, small bowl, optional: silicone spatula, baking parchment or cling film
Step 2
Heat the milk in a medium saucepan. Sift the cocoa into the warm milk and stir until smooth with a whisk.Homemade chocolate custard
Step 3
Mix the egg yolks with sugar, a pinch of salt and cornflour. Add a spoonful of the warm milk. Whisk immediately until smooth, otherwise lumps will form.
Step 4
Pour it back into the pan with the milk and immediately whisk again until smooth. Let it cook gently over low heat, stirring constantly. The chocolate custard is done when it starts to thicken.
Step 5
You can also check whether it is ready by drawing a line on a spoon; if it remains visible, the custard is cooked.
Step 6
Place a piece of baking parchment or foil on top to prevent a skin from forming on the surface of the custard. Let the chocolate custard cool completely, enjoy!
