Step 1
Add the steel cut oats, water (or milk), and cinnamon to the instant pot. Close the lid and turn the steam release valve to "seal". Set the instant pot to high and 4 minutes.
Step 2
The instant pot will take a few minutes to fully pressurize before it starts cooking. When the cooking time is complete, let it naturally release the pressure for 10-15 minutes. Once that's complete, carefully turn the steam valve to "vent" position (I usually do this with a wooden spoon so that my hand is far away from the steam). Once all steam has released, open the lid.
Step 3
The oats will have a small amount of liquid on top.
Step 4
Stir the oats before scooping out and adding to bowls. Serve with your favorite toppings like berries, nuts and seeds, banana slices and cinnamon.
