Step 1
Preheat an oven to 200℃.Peel and finely chop the garlic as small as possible and chop the parsley super fine too.
Step 2
Stir both into the softened butter with a pinch of salt and black pepper (give the butter a 10-15 second blast in a microwave if it’s straight out of the fridge.)Slice the baguette into 2cm wide slices, almost right through the stick but leaving a fraction at the bottom to hold the whole stick together.
Step 3
Spread the butter generously on either side of each cut.Wrap in tin foil and bake for 15 minutes, opening the top of the foil in the last few minutes to allow the bread to crisp up and turn golden brown.
Step 4
Serve immediately for best results.
Step 5
Makes a full French baguette.
