Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray.Step 2Heat milk in microwave for 20-25 seconds.Step 3Drop the butter into the milk to melt it.Step 4With an electric mixer on high, beat the eggs 3 minutes until thick and lemon-colored. With machine running, gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.Step 5Add the milk and butter mixture to the eggs and sugar and continue using hand mixer to combine.Step 6Next, add in baking soda and salt. Then, still using your hand mixer, add in flour gradually until everything is well blended.Step 7Pour batter into greased cake pan.Step 8Bake for 25-30 minutes until cake tests done when a toothpick is inserted in the center.Step 9Remove pan to a cooling rack for 10 minutes, then turn out onto cooling rack to cool completely. Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar and garnish with strawberries (or berries of your choice) if desired.
