Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C/160C fan forced. Grease a 16 x 26cm slice pan. Line with baking paper, allowing paper to overhang the 2 long sides.
Step 2
Combine the butter, golden syrup and sugar in a large saucepan. Cook, stirring, over medium-low heat until melted and combined. Add the oats and stir until well combined.
Step 3
Spread oat mixture over the base of the prepared pan. Smooth the surface. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden around the edges. Set aside, in the pan, for 1 hour or until cooled completely.
Step 4
For the topping, place the condensed milk, golden syrup and butter in a small saucepan. Cook, stirring, over low heat until combined and thickened slightly. Pour over slice base. Set aside for 2 hours to set.
Step 5
Use the paper to transfer the slice to a serving plate or board. Slice into 18 pieces.
