Step 1
In a saucepan bring the 1 1/2 cups of water to boil. Once boiling stir in the rice. Reduce the heat to low and cover. Simmer for 20 minutes. Make sure the rice is thoroughly cooked*
Step 2
Transfer the cooked rice into a clean saucepan. Add 1 1/2 cups half and half, sugar and salt. Cook over medium heat until creamy. About 15-20 minutes
Step 3
Stir in the rest of the half and half then add the beaten egg, and raisins. Cook for another 2 minutes. Stirring constantly.
Step 4
Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.
