Step 1
Add the potatoes to a pan of boiling water and boil until soft, about 15 minutes.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a large pan and cook the sausages according to the packet instructions - usually 10-12 minutes. Once cooked, set aside.
Step 3
Add the onion and mushrooms to the pan. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the flour, stock and Marmite. Simmer for a further 3 minutes.
Step 4
Once the potatoes are cooked, drain and add the butter, milk and mustard. Mash until you get your desired consistency.
Step 5
Chop the cooked sausages into bite-sized pieces and add to the pan of vegetables with the baked beans and thyme. Mix well.
Step 6
Transfer the sausage/vegetable mix to a large baking dish.
Step 7
Spread the mashed potato over the top of the sausage mixture then sprinkle with grated cheddar. Cook in a preheated oven for 30 minutes until the cheese has melted.
