Shower Steamers

Step 1

Gather your supplies and materials.

Add baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, and mica powder to a bowl.

Step 3

Mix the dry ingredients together, and then add the essential oils. Stir the mixture gently.

Add water to the dry ingredients slowly, 3 to 5 sprays at a time.If you add too much water at once it will cause a reaction with the baking soda and citric acid, making the mixture foam and expand.

After you've added water a couple of times, check to see if the shower steamer mixture stays together.

If it doesn't stay together, add more water and stir gently.

Step 7

Once the shower steamer mixture is ready it should feel like damp sand, and it will stay together when you squeeze it tightly in your hand.

Add the mixture to the silicone molds, one spoonful at a time. Make sure to press down firmly after each spoonful.

Step 9

Fill the mold completely and then add another spoonful on top.

Step 10

Use your hand to press down firmly

Step 11

Fill the rest of the molds in the same way. Allow the shower steamers to dry in the molds overnight.

Step 12

Once the tablets are dry, remove them from the molds. Read below for tips on how to store the shower steamers.

Your shower steamers are complete!

If you don't have a spray bottle, use a 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon to add the water, a little bit at a time.
