Step 1

Cook the beef. Add the ground beef to an oven safe skillet and cook over medium-high heat, stirring often and breaking the beef apart as you go, until the beef is no longer pink.

Step 2

Add onion and pepper. To the same skillet add the onion and bell pepper. Stir occasionally and cook until the onion is softened and translucent, 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

Add the garlic. Add the garlic and cook for another minute until aromatic.

Step 4

Cook and thicken beef mixture. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and cook while stirring, for another minute. Add the ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and beef broth to the skillet and stir well. Turn the heat down to medium heat, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is thick, about 20 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in some cheese. Stir in the Velveeta and 1 cup of the cheddar cheese and cook until the cheese melts.

Step 6

Finish and broil. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the meat mixture. Place the skillet under the broiler for about 5 minutes until the cheese melts and browns. The dip should be hot and bubbly.

Step 7

Garnish and serve. Garnish with some chopped parsley and serve immediately.
