Step 1
To make the spaetzle, add the flour and milk powder to a bowl. Make a well in the centre and then add in the wet ingredients. Stir until combined. It should look resemble a thick pancake style mixture. Allow to rest for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Boil a large pot of water and added a tablespoon of oil and some salt. Use a slotted spoon with large holes or a colander with large holes to pass the batter through. The idea is to have imperfect blobs resembling noodles go into the water. Once cooked, remove the spaetzle with a slotted spoon and set aside.
Step 3
To make the sauce, chop the onion and fry in some butter until clear. Add the mushroom and cook until brown, then add the chicken. Finally, add the gravy and let it melt over the top.
Step 4
Spoon the spaetzle back into the pan and stir to coat with the sauce. Serve topped with parsley.
