Step 1
Cook the rice according to packet directions. Soak 12 bamboo skewers in cold water for 10 minutes. Drain.
Step 2
Combine yoghurt, garam masala and 1/2 the onion in a non-aluminium dish. Add beef and toss. Thread beef onto skewers.
Step 3
Heat 1/2 the oil in a large heavy-based frying pan over medium heat. Add 1/2 the beef skewers and cook for 3-4 minutes each side or until just cooked. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil. Repeat with remaining oil and beef skewers.
Step 4
Place the cucumber, tomatoes, mint, lemon juice, remaining onion, salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Toss well to combine. Serve beef skewers with the rice and salad
