Step 1
Boil the noodles according to package directions (do not use flavor packet), drain and rinse very well with cold water so they don't overcook.
Step 2
Set a large skillet or wok over medium high heat. Once hot add the olive oil along with the chicken (if using), onion, kosher salt, and pepper. Cook 3 to 4 minutes.
Step 3
Add the garlic and the cooked noodles, Japanese BBQ sauce (or hoisin sauce), soy sauce, sriracha, and butter.
Step 4
Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring and pressing the noodles so they become slightly crisp. Add the green onions and cook another 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 5
Serve with sesame seeds and add more Japanese BBQ sauce and/or yum yum sauce if desired.
