The Best Garlic Bread

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the butter, garlic, and parsley together in a small bowl.

Step 2

Slice the loaf of bread vertically, creating 1-inch slices. Do not cut all the way through, stop just before you reach the bottom crust.

Step 3

Use a pastry brush to slather the butter mixture on each slice of bread.

Step 4

*If using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle over the butter on each slice. Brush any left over butter mixture over the top crust and sprinkle with additional Parmesan.

Step 5

Wrap the entire loaf in foil, folding the top closed and place on a heavy baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes.

Step 6

Slice the loaf in half horizontally, right down the middle. Brush each side with butter mixture and Parmesan cheese if using.

Wrap the entire loaf in foil, folding the top closed and place on a heavy baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes.

Step 8

Place the bread loaf halves on a heavy baking sheet and Broil for 2 to 3 minutes until browned and toasted. Do Not step away from the oven!!
