Preheat the oven to 400-degrees F.
Step 2
Wash and trim the woody ends off the asparagus spears. You can do this by bending them and seeing where they naturally break. Ideally, we want spears about 6-7 inches long. We need 18 spears total.
Step 3
Unroll the thawed puff pastry, and use a pizza cutter to cut it into 9 equal squares.
Step 4
Spread about 1.5 tablespoons of cream cheese in the center of each square.
Step 5
Top each square with 2 asparagus spears, pointing towards one of the points of the square.
Step 6
Use a pastry brush to brush the beaten egg on two opposite corners of the square, and then gather them together and pinch closed around the spears.
Step 7
Bake until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
