Easy Homemade Cream-of-Anything Soup

unsalted butter

onion

garlic

all-purpose flour

chicken broth

milk

salt

black pepper

Cream of Celery: Add 2 tablespoons finely chopped celery to onion and garlic. Stir in 1 tablespoon finely chopped celery leaves along with salt and pepper.


Cream of Mushroom: Saut&eacute; 1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms in 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high. Proceed with step 1, and follow recipe as directed.


Love this guide. It is exactly what I was looking for. How to make cream of ______ soup. I am going to go make my own chicken broth and then put this into action. So happy to find this!

What other liquid besides milk did you add to the mushroom soup?

I made cream of celery from the basic recipe and it was delicious. Yes step 1 is missing, but this isn’t rocket science. If you have any questions just watch the video! I will not be buying canned soups again.

The video was great and was telling you to go get the recipe with her different variations. The variations were there and instructed you to return to Step 1. The problem with this recipe is Step 1 instructions is blank.This had great potential, now I’ll be looking for a different recipe, sadly.I see many people have asked for it and no one apparently responds to these complaints.

The recipe may be fine but the background noise/music in the video made it almost impossible to hear your relatively soft voice. (Nothing wrong with your voice. Dump the music or cut the volume by at least 50-60%.

I for one appreciate the brevity with which the what, why, and how are clearly stated,  I can do a quick click, and get back to sautéing.  I appreciate that.  I don’t need a treatise on the history of soup, or permission to make cream of apricots or add rosemary or raisins or Doritos.  Being gluten-free and insatiably curious I’m used to modifying and experimenting.It annoys me when recipes are buried under hyperbolic filler like what color socks you wearing Mondays.  Simple.  Perfect. You’re awesome.  Thanks!

I honestly didn't need any further reviews. She only gave 2 variations because you would make it to taste with whatever you want in it. I am fresh out of veggies and made this with just herbs and spices and the recipe still turned out delicious! Also saved me a trip to the store for something to smother my pork chops in! Thanks for the cream of recipe! Love it! Will probably be using often.

Absolutely perfect!  I made the cream of chicken version and was going to substitute the milk with heavy cream,  but quickly realized it was not at all necessary.  The recipe as is,  is the perfect consistency. Thank you!

There’s no recipe there! Step 1 just says Variations:, then steps 2 and 3 give some suggestions.

Thank you for the recipe but it says "Cream of anything soup" but you only gave 2 variations I am looking to make cream of onion, cream of bacon, cream of broccoli ect. any chance of getting a recipe for those?
