I do this every year for Christmas gifts, but I did find that you have to cut the beans in order to get the full flavor.  What a difference in what you buy in the story.  Even "Real" vanilla is watered down.

I leave mine set in a cool dark place for six months :)

I have been making this same recipe for years. It is so good and easy to make.

So much better than anything you could buy.

I've been trying to find vanilla beans for quite awhile now.  I guess you have to go online to get them & the expense is horrid!  Where is the best place to order them from?  Does anyone know who I should order them from?
