How to Ripen a Pineapple (Easiest Way)

Step 1

Place the pineapple in a paper bag.

Step 2

To ripen the pineapple even faster, add a banana or an apple. These fruits produce ethylene, a hormone that helps ripen fruits. In fact, the pineapple itself produces ethylene as well. The ethylene gets trapped and confined within that space. This helps ripen the pineapple faster (even without any other fruit in the bag).

Step 3

Fold down the top of the bag and leave it at room temperature for a day. Your pineapple will be fully ripe within a day or two.
