Step 1
Put sugar and water into a sauce pan over medium-high heat. Cook stirring constantly until the sugar is dissolved and a thick syrup is formed. Cool and put into a jar.

*** This is a substitute... not the real thing!Brown sugar is made by adding molasses to it... so this syrup will have a very mild molasses flavor, but using this substitute could alter the flavor of the recipe (less molasses flavor).
