Step 1
Put the onion soup mix and sour cream powder in a mixing bowl and stir to mix well.
Step 2
Divide the mixture into two 3 oz (84 g) servings.

Put each serving in a bag or container to be used in the backcountry.

Pack two 0.38 oz packets (21 g) of mayonnaise per serving, which will be added when the meal is consumed.
Step 5
Pack 1 oz (28 g) corn chips per serving for dipping.
Step 6
Add 1.5 oz (45 mL) cold water and stir to mix well.
Step 7
The dip will become soupy quickly if too much water is added. Add less water if a thicker dip is preferred.
Step 8
Add two 0.38 oz packets (21 g) of mayonnaise to the dip mixture and stir to mix well.
Step 9
The dip is ready to eat as soon as fully mixed but the flavor will be better if allowed to sit for a few minutes.
