Step 1
Combine all ingredients, except for sesame seeds, in a small saucepan and continually whisk on medium heat. Bring sauce to a boil then turn the heat down and let the sauce simmer for 5 to 6 minutes, making sure to continually whisk, until the sauce has thickened up and coats the back of a spoon.
Step 2
If you want a thicker sauce, mix together 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of cold water to make a slurry then mix it into the teriyaki sauce once the sauce has been removed from the heat.
Step 3
Mix in sesame seeds and enjoy the sauce while it’s warm or let the sauce cool completely before storing in the fridge.
