Step 1
Cook the pasta to al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat, for about 2-3 minutes. Add the onion and stir until softened, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic and mix for about 30 seconds.

Add the tomato paste and stir for 1-2 minutes with a wooden spoon. Then, whisk in the heavy cream until well combined and bring the mixture to a boil.
Step 4
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 30-60 seconds. Next, mix in the butter, salt, pepper, and pepper flakes (if using). Stir in the vodka.
Step 5
Combine the cooked pasta and sauce and toss to coat. Mix in some of the pasta water to thicken the sauce.
Step 6
Garnish with Parmesan cheese and basil. Serve and enjoy!
