How to Make Almond Butter (in 1 Minute!)

Preheat Oven

If roasting your almonds, preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.

Roast Almonds

Place the almonds on a parchment lined baking tray and roast for 10-13 minutes.

Cool the Almonds

Let the almonds cool completely, to room temperature. Then transfer the almonds to your Vitamix container.

Add Optional Oil

If not roasting the almonds and using additional oil, add the oil to your Vitamix container, then the nuts.

Blend Almonds

Place the lid on your Vitamix and remove the cap. Insert the tamper through the lid. Turn the Vitamix on high and use the tamper to continuously push down on the almonds, particularly in the corners. After one minute, you'll have almond butter.

Store

Transfer the almond butter to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.

HOW TO MAKE ALMOND BUTTER | easy homemade almond butter in 1-minute

Learn how to make almond butter at home! Creamy, nutty, and smooth, it&#039;s delicious on toast, overnight oats, yogurt, and more. Vegan and gluten-free.

How to Make Almond Butter

Avocado oil or another neutral-tasting oil,

Sea salt (to taste)

Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Spread the almonds in an even layer on the baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes, or until fragrant. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.

Transfer the toasted almonds to a medium food processor. Process until very smooth, stopping every 30 seconds to 1 minute to scape down the sides of the bowl, as necessary, and to give the food processor&#039;s motor a break. The mixture will be chunky at first. Then, it&#039;ll thicken into a ball, and finally, it will become creamy and smooth. The whole process should take about 15 minutes.

If the almond butter still isn&#039;t coming together after 15 minutes, add avocado oil, 1 teaspoon at a time, to help the mixture blend.

Season to taste with salt, and serve on toast, overnight oats, oatmeal, yogurt, or banana bread. Find more serving suggestions in the post above.

Almond Butter Recipe

Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C).

Spread almonds out on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. They should smell nutty and toasty. Leave them in the pan to cool for 5 minutes before continuing. They should be warm but not hot when blending.

Make sure the food processor bowl, blade, and any spatula used is completely dry. One tiny drop of water could make your almond butter seize.

Add the warm roasted almonds to a food processor (do not add anything else) and process until completely smooth and creamy.

Scrape the sides and the bottom with a spatula as needed for even mixing and if your food processor or blender starts getting a little warm give it a break for a few minutes. It could take anything from 7 to 20 minutes depending on your food processor/blender.

Patience is key here. It will go through several stages. First it will look like coarse almond flour, then wet sand, then a very thick grainy paste, and then magic will happen and it will suddenly become completely smooth and creamy.

Once the almond butter is smooth and creamy you can add a pinch of salt if desired (or other dry flavourings) and give it a quick blend to combine before spooning into jars for storage. DO NOT add anything liquid and if using brown/coconut sugar open a brand new bag. Don&#39;t use one that has previously been opened.
