Asian Glazed Salmon

brown sugar

soy sauce

hoisin sauce

ginger

red pepper flakes (to taste)

garlic

lime juice

salmon fillets (1-2 pound boneless, skinless)

In a medium saucepan, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, red pepper flakes, garlic and lime juice.

Bring to a boil over medium heat until sauce thickens. Set aside.

Preheat the broiler to high. Line a baking dish with foil and place salmon on top.

Baste with glaze and broil for 4 minutes. Remove salmon from the oven, turn over, baste with glaze and return to the oven to broil for 4 more minutes.

Carefully remove salmon from the oven and baste one more time before serving.

Whole30 Baked Salmon with Gochujang Glaze is an easy Paleo Asian salmon recipe packed with flavor. 15 minutes of baking time for a healthy dinner fast!

Whole30 Salmon with Sweet Spicy Gochujang Glaze

tbsp Paleo Gochujang

2.5 tsp grated ginger

garlic (crushed, about 2 small cloves)

tbsp coconut aminos

sesame oil

(5.25 oz) Salmon fillets

scallions

Toasted sesame seeds (sprinkle, optional)

rice

Fresh shiitake (sauteed, see notes)

Preheat oven to 400F.

Follow the paleo gochujang recipe instructions to blend until smooth. Stir-in ginger, garlic, coconut aminos, and sesame oil. Mix well and set aside in a bowl.

Run your fingers through the salmon to check if there are remaining bones.

In a large baking sheet pan, line with parchment paper. Pat dry the fillets and place them skin side down and with some space in-between.

Use the back of a spoon to smother each fillet with about 1 tbsp gochujang glaze over the top and on both sides.

Bake about 10 to 14 minutes total. Check after 10 minutes.

The bake time will depend on the thickness of the fish. You can use a fork to gently flake the layers of flesh in the thickest part of the fish. The salmon should be opaque and easy to flake with a fork. For people who prefer medium-rare, look for a slightly pink/rare center.

Sprinkle with scallion and sesame seeds, if using.

Serve hot or in room temperature with cauliflower fried rice and sauteed shiitake.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Make the glaze first, then prepare salmon.

Place lemon juice, soy sauce, miso paste, vinegar, mustard powder, and 1 teaspoon of corn starch in a small pot and whisk. Turn heat to medium and bring to a boil, then simmer 2 minutes, whisking periodically, until thickened.

Heat heavy pan on medium high. Pat salmon dry with a paper towel, and cut salmon into 4-6 ounce fillets.

Mix together 2 tablespoons brown sugar with remaining 1 teaspoon cornstarch.

Pepper salmon, and rub both sides with brown sugar mixture.

Add oil to heating pan, and place into the pan - not all will fit at once.

Cook each side for 2-3 minutes to create a crust before flipping. Once cooked on both sides, remove to a lined baking sheet and cook the next batch.

Brush glaze over both sides of the fish, then bake in 425 degree oven for 7-10 minutes or until flaky and still moist.

 I used it on Salmon just as directed. You really can't go wrong &amp; it was a nice change from the usual beef or chicken.
