Make restaurant-style fajitas in your own kitchen with this Chili&#x27;s Fajita Copycat recipe! The fresh homemade marinade is the key to this yummy meal!

Grilled Steak Fajitas (Chili's Copycat) Recipe

2lb Flank Steak

Lime

tbsp vegetable or olive oil

garlic

tsp ground Cumin

tbsp brown sugar (or honey)

tsp black pepper

salt

bell peppers

onion

vegetable oil

pico de gallo

cheddar cheese

guacamole

sour cream

tsp fresh cilantro (minced)

Marinade beef and chicken separately. Not together in the same bag. Combine all of the ingredients of the marinade in a mixing bowl, pour out 1/3 of the mixture, and reserve it for later. Add beef or chicken to a large gallon zip lock bag. Pour the marinade over the meat. Seal the bag tightly and chill in the refrigerator in a dish overnight or for at least 2 hours.

Marinate the Meat

Preheat grill or stovetop grill on high heat.

Heat a skillet over med/high heat.

Saute onions and peppers in 1 tbsp of oil for 5 minutes.

Pour reserved marinade over the mixture over the onions and peppers. Add a pinch of pepper. Saute until onions are translucent and dark on the edges, around 4-5 minutes. Salt to taste. Set aside.

Ona BBQ grill your meat until a thermometer gives you the correct safe to eat food temperature. About 4-5 minutes per side. Steak is 145˚ with a 5-10 minute rest time, Poultry is 165˚.

When the meat is done slice it into thin strips against the grain.

Wrap tortillas in moist paper towels and steam them in the microwave for 30 seconds.

Serve immediately with pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream, guacamole and cilantro.

Make the Fajitas

While meat and onions are cooking heat a separate skillet (cast iron if possible) over high heat. Add meat and onions to the pan and they will sizzle! Serve immediately.

Juicy and insanely tender, this beef fajita recipe is so easy and comes together quickly once the marinating is done.

Beef Fajita Recipe (My BEST Juicy Steak Fajitas!)

olive oil

tbsp lime juice (about 1 lime)

soy sauce

Worcestershire sauce

tsp kosher salt

½ tsp black pepper

garlic powder

onion powder

tsp smoked paprika

tsp chili powder

tsp cumin

½ lbs steak (flank steak, flat iron, skirt steak, sirloin tip,

red bell pepper (sliced)

yellow bell pepper (sliced)

green bell pepper (sliced)

tsp minced garlic

flour tortillas

Optional toppings: sour cream

Marinate the steak: In a large bowl or zip-top bag, mix olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, and onion powder. Add the steak and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 8 hours).

Cook the steak:

Stovetop: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook steak for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (or longer for more doneness). Transfer to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Reserve the skillet (no need to wash it out).

Cook the veggies: In the same skillet over medium-high, add 1 tbsp olive oil. Once shimmering hot, add peppers, onions and salt. Cook for several minutes undisturbed until slightly charred on the underside, then stir and continue cooking until slightly softened, about 7 minutes total.

Assemble fajitas: Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Serve with warm tortillas and your favorite toppings.

Total yum left the cumin out hate the stuff. I too used to use ATK and this one way way better for sure.

This was excellent. Far and above my long used ATK recipe. I used more fresh lime juice than specified and used the reserved marinade, (cooked off) when I was cooking the peppers. I used strip loins as I could not find flank steak. I’ll try this with chicken or pork too.
