French Yogurt Cake Recipe

flour

tsp baking powder

tsp salt

sugar

orange, grated zest

yogurt

olive oil

eggs, (room temperature)

tbsp butter, (for greasing the pan)

powdered sugar, (for dusting (optional))

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350 °F).

Sift and combine flour, salt, baking powder, and ½ cup sugar in a medium-sized bowl.

Rub orange zest with the remaining ¼ cup of sugar.

Add orange zest and sugar into the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix to combine. 

In a separate bowl, combine yogurt and eggs. Whisk.

Add olive oil and whisk to combine.

Add and gently mix the dry ingredients in batches. Mix until thoroughly combined.

Grease your loaf pan with butter.

Pour the mixture into the greased pan and use a spatula to even the top of the cake mixture.

Place it on the lower half of the oven for 50 to 55 minutes, or until the top has turned golden.

Set aside for 20 mins to cool down. 

Remove the cake from the pan (careful, the pan might still be hot).

Serve and sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.

French Yogurt Cake

You don&#039;t need to buy a cake mix to prepare a moist carrot cake.  This Italian Orange &amp; Carrot Cake recipe will show you how easy it is to make it from scratch! Also called &#039;Ciambella Arancia e Carote&#039; -- one slice of this flavorsome treat will not be enough!

Italian Orange and Carrot Cake Recipe

carrots (about 279 grams), (peeled, roughly chopped)

extra virgin olive oil

orange, (grated zest)

salt

nutmeg

powdered sugar, (optional)

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Grease your pan with butter or olive oil, and dust it with some flour.

Prepare the Equipment:

Using a medium-sized bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.

Combine carrots and olive oil in a blender.  Pulse/blend until you get a bit of a creamy texture.

In a large bowl, mix eggs and sugar until creamy.

Add the blended carrots and oil mixture. Add the orange zest and continue mixing.

Add sifted dry ingredients and mix to combine evenly.

Prepare the Cake Batter:

Pour batter into greased and floured cake pan.

Place pan in the middle of the oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top has turned into a golden color.

Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.

Take the Italian orange and carrot cake from the pan.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and decorate with dried orange slices (if desired).

Slice and serve.
