These copycat Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits are one of my favourite dinner roll recipes! They’re buttery, garlicky, cheesy, flaky, and ready in just 25 minutes!

Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

all purpose flour

sharp cheddar cheese, (shredded)

baking powder

garlic powder

salt

parsley, (fresh, finely chopped)

milk

butter, (softened)

butter, (melted)

Preheat oven to 400°F. Like a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.&nbsp;

In a medium bowl, mix flour, cheddar cheese, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and parsley.

In a separate bowl, mix milk, egg, and butter. Pour into dry ingredients.

Mix until a sticky dough forms, being careful not to overmix it. If the dough is dry, add a splash of milk.&nbsp;

Divide dough into 8-10 mounds on prepared baking sheet, about 2" apart.&nbsp;

Bake for 12-14 minutes. Meanwhile, combine ingredients for topping.&nbsp;

Brush each biscuit with topping and return to oven for an additional 5 minutes.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment or silicone mats. Set aside.

In a large food processor, combine flour, cheddar cheese, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and onion powder. Pulse until blended.

Add the chilled butter and pulse until incorporated (there will still be some small chunks of butter).

Slowly pour in the buttermilk, pulsing as you go. Stop pulsing as soon as the dough comes together.

Use a ¼ cup scoop to drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake until golden brown – about 15-17 minutes. Brush the warm biscuits with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley flakes.

This recipe is technically a copycat of Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuit! Soft, buttery, salty and cheesy… it is the perfect compliment to dinner!

Red Lobster Biscuits

(170 grams) butter, (divided)

(250 grams) all-purpose flour

sugar

kosher salt, (divided)

(245 grams) whole milk

(8ounces, 230 grams) mild cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare a large baking sheet with Silpat or parchment paper.&nbsp;(If you are shredding your own cheese, do that first.)

In a medium microwave-safe bowl, add 1/2 cup (113g) butter. Heat until butter is melted. (About 45 seconds) Set aside to slightly cool.

In a large mixing bowl add the flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic and 1 teaspoon salt. Whisk until well combined.

Pour the milk into the melted butter you set aside and stir well.

Pour the milk and butter mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, making sure to not over mix. Add shredded cheese and fold in until cheese is evenly distributed.

Grab about 1/2 cup of dough with your fingers and drop onto baking sheet. (about the size of a small fist) You can fit 8 large biscuits onto one baking sheet. If you want smaller biscuits, prepare another lined baking sheet and make each biscuit about 1/4 cup.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, until biscuits are just barely golden brown.

While biscuits are baking, melt remaining 1/4 cup (56g) of butter in small mixing bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds or until butter is melted. Add 1 teaspoon salt and all parsley and stir.

When biscuits are removed from the oven, immediately brush with butter parsley mixture.

Serve hot.

Prep.

Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a quarter sheet baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Cut butter.

Cut the butter into small pieces and stick back in the fridge or freezer until ready to use.

Combine dry ingredients.

Combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a medium bowl and whisk to combine.

Cut in butter.

Use a pastry cutter to cut the VERY COLD butter in. You want to see small, pea-sized pieces of butter throughout the dough.

Add buttermilk.

Stir in the buttermilk and mix just until the ingredients are combined. The dough will be sticky.

Mix in cheese.

Add in the shredded cheese and use your hands to fully incorporate into the dough.

Scoop dough.

Scoop the dough out onto the prepared baking sheet. Pat down gently to flatten slightly.

Bake

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until tops are golden brown and biscuits are cooked through.

Prepare the topping.

In a small bowl, stir together the garlic powder and melted butter. Add the chopped parsley and stir to combine.

Brush on biscuits.

Use a pastry brush to brush the melted butter mixture on top of each biscuit. Serve immediately.

Cheddar Garlic Butter Swim Biscuits (a.k.a. Butter Dip Biscuits) are incredibly fluffy and flavorful but so easy to make since you don&#039;t even need a biscuit cutter!

Cheddar Garlic Butter Swim Biscuits

(1 stick) salted butter

Tablespoon aluminum-free baking powder

buttermilk ((you may need 2 cups))

chives ((optional))

Preheat oven to 450F degrees. Spray a glass or ceramic 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray (I like the kind with flour in it).

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt stick of butter in the microwave. Pour melted butter into prepared baking dish.

In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and garlic powder.

Pour in the buttermilk. Stir until a sticky batter forms. If batter still seems too dry add a tad bit more buttermilk until the batter is thick and sticky.

Finally, gently stir in shredded cheddar and chopped chives. Gently stir until combined well.

Pour biscuit dough into baking dish (right on top of the melted butter.) Some of the butter will run over the top of the dough. Tip: I will spray my hand with some nonstick spray to help spread the dough out evenly in the pan. 

Cut the dough into 9 squares (as best you can). This will help with cutting later when the biscuits are baked.

Bake (on the middle oven rack) for about 25-30 minutes, rotating dish once during baking.

Oven times DO VARY since different ovens have different hot spots, but basically biscuits should be golden brown on top and spring back to the touch. Insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean with no batter, they are done!

These Cheddar Bay Biscuits are easy to make from scratch or with Bisquick mix! This makes an easy side dish recipe that needs just 12 minutes of baking time!
