Decorate: To make the turkey “feathers” stick your pretzel sticks into the back 1/2 of the cheese ball. To create mr. gobblers head take a stick of beef jerky and “glue” a whopper candy on top with melted chocolate or icing. You can see in the video I put melted chocolate into a plastic bag and then clipped the end. I find that the melted chocolate creates a very strong “glue” once it is dried. Sometimes I even attach the whopper and then put it in the fridge to get it nice and attached before I move on to the rest of the face. Then attach the nose and eyes also with the chocolate. We made the gobbler by cutting a little strip of fruit roll up and then laying it over the candy corn, no need for glue. See the photos below for a step-by-step photo tutorial or the video above!

Two Easy Cheese Ball Recipes

Creepy, crawly, and delicious, these Spider Cheeseballs are the ideal Halloween appetizer recipe.

Spider Cheeseballs for Halloween

(8 ounces each cream cheese, softened)

extra virgin olive oil

goat cheese

garlic

dill weed

oregano

black sesame seeds

pretzels and crackers

Garlic Clove

pretzel stick

In a bowl, beat together the cream cheese and olive oil until smooth. Then beat in the goat cheese, green onions, garlic, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. Chill for 30 minutes.

With your hands, roll the cheese mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls (for small spiders) and 3-inch balls (for large spiders). Then roll the balls in the black sesame seeds to coat.

For the small spiders, use four pretzel sticks broken in half to create eight legs (four on each side of the ball.) For the large spiders, use eight pretzel sticks to create eight legs (four on each side of the ball.)

Cover the Spider Cheeseballs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until you're ready to serve them. Serve with crackers or additional pretzel sticks.

Ha! Super cute! And your pictures are beautiful! Definitely magazine worthy :)

Oh my gosh, how adorable are these spiders?? And they're edible too! Pinning!

Oh goodness, I love these! Spooky, but not gruesome like some Halloween recipes out there. Such a fun idea!

Making a Cheese Ball is a simple process that starts with cream cheese and combines with a variety of mix ins: cheddar cheese, bacon, pecans, Ranch seasoning, or anything else you'd like! Make your own cheese ball exactly how you want it!

How to Make a Cheeseball

Cream cheese (2 bricks)

oz Dry Ranch dressing mix

Bacon bits

cranberries (chopped)

Cream together ingredients: Mix the cream cheese, shredded cheese, and ranch seasoning packet in the bowl of a stand mixer until well combined. It is easier to shape the balls when you use cold cream cheese as opposed to room temperature.

Divide the mix into two separate bowls and add any additional ingredients you would like or keep as one flavor and skip the dividing step.

Bacon Pecan Cheeseball: Stir in 1/4 bacon bits. Coat the outside with 1/2 cup chopped pecans {Do not mix these in, see shaping step}

Cranberry Almond Cheeseball: Add in 1/4 chopped dried cranberries. Coat the outside with 1/2 cup sliced almonds {Do not mix these in, see shaping step}

Shape Cheeseballs: To shape the cheese ball, first scrape the mixture into a ball-like shape while it's still inside the bowl.

Unwrap a piece of saran wrap and lay it on the counter. Sprinkle about half the nuts onto the saran wrap, in a small pile.

Using a rubber scraper, scrape out the semi-shaped ball of cheese onto the top of the nuts. Now, working with one side at a time, cover the mound of cheese with a section of saran wrap and start to shape it into a ball. Just use your hands- sometimes I cover the whole thing and use both my hands to shape it.

Unwrap it and start pressing nuts into the side. For the sliced almonds, just start placing them on to cover the outside. They won't stick more than one layer deep, so you can roll it around in them a bit, then just individually place them where there are sections missing.

For the chopped pecans, I find it's easier to cover and shape one side, then pick up the cheese ball, sprinkle more nuts on the saran wrap and turn the cheese ball over, covering the other side. Pick it up and roll it through the nuts again to coat around the middle section.

All the while you can continue to cover the cheese ball with sections of the plastic wrap and shape it into a ball. I say ball, but you really don't want it to be perfectly round since it needs to sit on a plate! So do the best to make it circular, then set it down with a little more force, flattening one side.

Chill: When you have finished shaping your cheeseball, wrap it in plastic wrap and place it into the fridge to chill for at least a few hours, but preferably a day in advance. This will help it to set up and allow the flavors to meld.

Serve: When you're ready to serve, put the cheese ball on a plate surrounded with crackers and a small knife for serving. Serve and enjoy!

This festive Cheese Ball is a creamy, savory, and slightly sweet appetizer that’s perfect for entertaining during the holidays, parties, or for a game day spread. It combines tangy cream cheese, sharp cheddar, and fresh herbs, all coated in a crunchy layer of toasted pecans, cranberries, chives, and pumpkin seeds. It’s the kind of make-ahead, crowd-pleasing party dip that instantly elevates any gathering.

Easy Cheese Ball (Party and Holiday Appetizer)

full-fat cream cheese ((2 bricks), softened)

sharp white cheddar (shredded)

fine sea salt

pecans (roughly chopped, divided)

cranberries (roughly chopped, divided)

parsley (finely chopped, divided)

chives (finely chopped, divided)

pumpkin seeds

In a mixing bowl, add the cream cheese and beat until smooth and creamy. Add the shredded cheddar, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and half each of the pecans, cranberries, parsley, and chives.

Mix until fully combined then bring the mixture together with your hands into a ball shape. It will be a bit sticky so lightly wetting your hands with water first will help.

Spread the remaining pecans, cranberries and chives, along with the pumpkin seeds on a board, mixing them together.

Next, roll the cheeseball on the board and use your hands to press the ingredients to it so it’s completely coated. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for 30-45 minutes.

When you’re ready to serve, unwrap the cheeseball and place it on a serving platter.

Surround it with your choice of crackers then garnish with rosemary sprigs for a festive presentation.

Allow guests to dig in and help themselves. Enjoy!

This looks so beautiful JewelZ! The star of the Olympics️

Made this for an event, then said event got snowed out... Man, that's a lot of cheese ball for 2! Anyone ever try freezing it?

We made this for Thanksgiving and it was delicious! It's been years since we've made a cheeseball, and it didn't disappoint. We ate it with breakfast the next day as well. This recipe makes a pretty big ball and, with all the other food available, there were leftovers. We wasted no time finishing it off. The flavors are balanced. The cranberries give a little taste of sweet, and the sharp cheese gives the savory along with the mild garlic. I highly recommend this recipe. It's a beautiful addition to the table.

Making this beautiful appetizer for Christmas! Also sent /shared recipe with my children! Thanks Julia!YUM!

This was everybody's favorite at Thanksgiving! I like that it's meatless - so many other recipes online have bacon and other ingredients I don't use.

Looks so good! can I substitute Mayo for crean cheese or something else

Julia, this was a gorgeous appetizer! I did a trial run of this because I want to make it for Thanksgiving. My whole family loved, I'm definitely making this next week for Thanksgiving.
