cherry delight

This Classic Cherry Delight comes together in just minutes and is made of three simple layers.  If you want a dessert that's not overly sweet yet delicious, this is it!

Classic Cherry Delight

unsalted butter

graham cracker crumbs (about 9 whole crackers)

sugar

cream cheese, softened

vanilla extract

container

cherry pie filling, 21 ounces

Add the butter to a medium bowl.  Microwave for 30 seconds or until melted.  Add the graham cracker crumbs and sugar and mix well to combine.  Pat the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of an 8 x 8 baking dish.  Set aside.

CRUST

Add the cream cheese to a large bowl.  Mix with a mixer until the cream cheese of smooth and free of any lumps.  Add the powdered sugar and vanilla and mix well.  Add the cool whip and mix until the cool whip and cream cheese are combined, but don&#8217;t overmix.

Spread the filling evenly over the graham cracker crust, using a spoon or offset spatula.  Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top and carefully spread it evenly over the filling.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.  I like to leave it overnight.

16 ounces cream cheese
2 envelopes Dream Whip
1 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
42 ounces cherry pie filling

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Have the pecan crust baked, cooled, and ready to go. (Or you can also use a graham cracker crust, pre-made pie crust, etc.)
2. Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese well.
3. In a separate mixer bowl, whisk together the Dream Whip with the milk and vanilla, according to package directions. Whisk it until it begins to form soft peaks, about 4 minutes.
4. Add the cream cheese and powdered sugar to the Dream Whip mixture, and whisk for 3 to 5 minutes, or until it’s smooth and creamy.
5. Spread the Dream Whip cream cheese filling onto the prepared pie crust.
6. Then top it all off with cherry pie filling. 
7. Cover your no bake cherry dessert and allow it to chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible.
8. When it’s ready to serve, you can top it off with a dollop of whipped cream or serve it as is. It’s so delicious!

graham cracker squares (10 full sheets) (rolled fine (about 1 1/2 cups))

butter

Tbsp sugar

8- oz pkg cream cheese

Tbsp milk

vanilla

COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

tsp almond extract

Combine crust ingredients and press in bottom of 7 x 11 x 1 1/2&quot; pan.

Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until blended and smooth. Spread over crust. It will be very thick.

Fold the vanilla and sugar into the COOL WHIP topping, and spread over the cream cheese.

Combine the cherry pie filling and almond flavoring. Gently smooth it over the top of the COOL WHIP layer.

Cover carefully with plastic wrap and chill overnight. Cut into squares before serving.

From Scratch Cherry Delight

graham crackers (crushed, about 3 cups worth)

butter (melted)

heavy cream

cream cheese (softened)

cherries (pitted, can use frozen (need to be thawed))

water

cornstarch

lemon juice

Preheat oven to 375℉ (190℃). Grease a 9x13 baking dish.

Finely crush 24 graham crackers  in a food processor (about 3 cups crumbs).

In a large bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, 3/4 cup butter, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Mix until evenly moistened.

Bake for 10 minutes until it has become a touch more golden.

Graham Cracker Crust:

Beat together 1 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

In a separate bowl, mix together 16 ounces cream cheese and 1/2 cup of sugar.

Mix together the whipped cream mixture and the cream cheese mixture.

Spread carefully across the cooled graham cracker crust, ensuring that all of the edges are sealed and there are no voids or holes.  Chill for 1 hour minimum.

Cream Layer:

In a saucepan combine 3-4 cups cherries, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup water, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Mix until combined then place on stove over medium-high heat.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes until the liquid thickens.  Pour into a jar or bowl and cover and let chill.

Pour the chilled cherry topping over the cream cheese layer when ready to serve.
