Delicious Chicken Flautas with a cheesy chicken filling tightly rolled in a golden, fried flour tortilla.

Add the Canola oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat, and wait for the oil to reach between 350°-375°. In the meantime, assemble the flautas.

Mix the shredded chicken and cheese in a large bowl together and set aside until ready to use.

Wrap a stack of 3-5 flour tortillas at a time in damp paper towel and place on a microwavable -safe plate. Microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute intervals, just until the tortillas are soft and pliable.

Add about 2 tablespoons of filling to each tortillas and roll tightly. Once you have 3-4 flautas assembled, begin adding them to the oil one at a time.

Gently add the flautas to the hot oil seam-side down, and using a pair of tongs, hold it in place for about 15 seconds. Fry for 30-45 seconds on each side, or until the flauta is golden in color. Set aside on a plate lined with paper towels, and repeat with remaining flautas.

Serve with desired topping and enjoy!

Quick &amp; Easy Chicken Flautas

(12.5 oz each) chicken (drained & flaked)

oz cream cheese (softened)

salsa

shredded cheese (any variety)

cumin

garlic powder

onion powder

chili powder

8" flour tortillas

Heat oven to 400°. Prepare a cookie sheet by lining with parchment paper or tin foil, or you can spray the pan with cooking spray.

Combine drained and flaked chicken, cream cheese, salsa, cheese, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder into a mixing bowl. Stir together until well combined. 

Spread 3 tablespoons (a large spoonful) of chicken mixture onto a tortilla. Roll up tightly and place seam side down on a cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining tortillas.&nbsp;*If you use smaller tortillas then you won't need the full 3 tablespoons of filling, so adjust accordingly.

Spray the tops of the flautas with cooking spray. Don&#39;t soak them but you want them to have a decent coating of cooking spray so they will get really brown and crispy. I also like to sprinkle some kosher salt on top of the sprayed flautas, but this is totally optional.

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until they reach desired crispness that you want. Let cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving so the filling can cool and come together. Serve with dips of your choice (sour cream, salsa, guacamole).

Delicious, crunchy chicken flautas are filled with shredded chicken, salsa, cheese, and more! They can be fried, air fried, or even baked!

vegetable or canola oil (for frying)

shredded Mexican blend cheese

salsa (store-bought

can diced chiles

garlic salt with parsley flakes (to taste)

pepper (to taste)

(6-inch) flour tortillas (or corn tortillas)

salt (to taste)

shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, green salsa, guacamole, Cilantro Ranch dressing

Preheat the oven to the warm setting or about 200°F.

Fill a large saucepan with about ¾ inch oil. Heat over medium heat to 375°F.

In a medium bowl, combine chicken, cheese, salsa, diced chiles, garlic salt, and pepper.

Working with 4 tortillas at a time, spread a heaping spoonful of chicken filling along the middle of each tortilla. Roll the tortillas tightly around the filling and secure each one with a toothpick.

Using tongs, hold each flauta in hot oil until firm, then release to continue cooking. Cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes, then remove to a paper towel–lined plate and immediately season with salt.

Transfer flautas to a foil-lined baking sheet and keep warm in the oven while assembling and cooking the remaining tortillas. Serve warm with toppings.

Preheat the oven to 400˚F (200˚C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine the chicken, onion, red bell pepper, jalapeño, ½ cup (50 g) of Monterey Jack cheese, ½ cup (50 g) of cheddar cheese, the lime juice, and taco seasoning. Mix thoroughly.

Place one of the tortillas on a cutting board. Scoop 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the bottom edge of the tortilla. Roll up the tortilla tightly, then cut in half crosswise. Repeat with the rest of the tortillas and filling.

Arrange the flautas in a circle on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with half of the remaining cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Place a second layer of flautas on top of the first so they are overlapping. Sprinkle with the rest of the cheese. Place the rest of the flautas on top to make a third layer.

Bake for 30 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.

Make sauce

In a food processor or blender, combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, lime juice, ranch dressing mix, cilantro, salsa verde and garlic. Pulse to combine.  Add hot sauce to taste. If possible, refrigerate for several hours to allow the flavors to meld and combine.

Preheat

Heat the oven to 425ºF. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray.

Make filling

Place the cream cheese in a medium microwave-safe proof bowl. Microwave for 20 to 30 seconds, or until easy to stir. Add in the salsa verde, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, onion powder and garlic powder.  Add the chicken, cheese, cilantro and green onions; stir to combine.

Prep tortillas

Wrap 4 tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for 20-30 seconds, or until soft and pliable. 

Fill flautas

Place 2-3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture down the center of the tortilla, keeping it about 1/2-inch from the edges, then roll up.  Place seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.

Cook

Spray the rolled tortillas lightly with cooking spray, then sprinkle with kosher salt. Place the pan in the oven and bake until the tortillas are crisp and the edges have browned, 15-20 minutes.  

Cool

Let the flautas cool for 5-10 minutes, then serve with the Creamy Cilantro-Lime Ranch Dressing.
