This traditional meatloaf recipe is just like mom used to make, made with ground beef and a sweet and tangy glaze topping.

The Best Classic Meatloaf recipe

90% beef

bread crumbs

onion

milk

ketchup

Worcestershire sauce

parsley leaves

salt

garlic powder

black pepper

For the Topping:

tbsp. packed light brown sugar

tbsp. red wine vinegar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large bowl, add the beef, bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, 2 tablespoons ketchup, worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Use your hands to mush and mix these ingredients together until well combined.*

Add the meat mixture to a loaf pan. Pat the meat down into an even layer.

In a small bowl, add 1/4 cup ketchup, the brown sugar, and vinegar. Stir to combine. Pour the sauce on top of the meatloaf and spread it into an even layer.

Bake uncovered for 55 minutes.

Let the meatloaf rest for 8-10 minutes before serving (or it may fall apart).**

This Classic Meatloaf Recipe is sure to become a favorite family recipe. This tender meatloaf with a simple, sweet glaze on top brings me back to my childhood!

Classic Meatloaf Recipe

butter

olive oil

tomato paste

kosher salt,

black pepper,

meatloaf mix beef

spicy brown mustard

breadcrumbs

eggs, beaten

parsley

basil

For the Glaze:

sweet chili sauce

dry mustard

brown sugar

Add the butter and oil to a skillet. Once the butter is melted, add the onions and cook 7-8 minutes until softened.

Add the tomato paste to the onions and stir to combine. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly.

Add the meatloaf mix to a large bowl along with the salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, breadcrumbs, eggs, parsley, garlic powder, basil and the cooled, cooked onions.

Mix together until all the ingredients are incorporated but do not over mix, as this will make for a tough meatloaf.

Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper, or spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. If using foil, make sure you spray that with cooking spray as well before you add the meatloaf.

Add the meatloaf mixture to the baking sheet, forming into a loaf shape approximately 10&#8243; long by 5&#8243; wide.

Stir the ingredients together for the glaze in a small bowl. Pour half of the glaze over the meatloaf and save half for later.

Place the meatloaf in the oven for 35 minutes, remove from the oven to pour on more glaze, then return to the oven and bake another 20-25 minutes.

I made this meatloaf for tonights dinner my ex-spouse loved it. The meatloaf mix was ideal. In addition, the different herbs and condiments gave such bursting flavor.

Delicious! Made with 2lbs or ground beef instead of 2 1/2  and cooked it at 375 for 50 min and it was perfect!

I am 50 and have never mastered meatloaf although I cook a ton.  Tonight I nailed it with this recipe and got rave reviews from my teenagers and husband.  Fantastic and a keeper!

This Classic Meatloaf is probably just like your grandmother made! This meatloaf has a tangy and sweet BBQ style sauce on the top and is so moist!

Classic Meatloaf

c Milk

eggs

beef

c diced onion

c celery

Tbsp ketchup

sage

thyme

salt and pepper (to taste)

Tbsp brown sugar

Tbsp worchestershire sauce

tsp white vinegar

onion powder

tsp garlic, granulated

Preheat oven to 350°F

Soak bread crumbs in milk for 5 minutes.

Whisk eggs.

Add all ingredients to a large bowl and mix thoroughly, but do not overwork.

Place meatloaf in a large bread pan, spray with cooking spray.

Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until browned on top and internal temperature measures 165°F. In the last 10 minutes, glaze the top with lots of the sauce.

Add all ingredients to small pot. Cook over medium low heat, stirring occasionally.

For sauce

It's an oldie, but a goodie-- Meatloaf! There's not a whole lot better than a tender and moist meatloaf and this is the PERFECT recipe in my book.&nbsp;

Mom's Classic Meatloaf Recipe

saltine crackers

dill weed

beef (80/20% fat)

onion (finely chopped)

Worcestershire Sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

Combine the milk and crushed saltine crackers in a small bowl. Allow to soak for about 5 minutes or until the crackers are soft. Whisk in the egg, salt, sage, dill, and pepper.&nbsp;

Place ground beef in a large bowl and add in onion and milk mixture. Gently mix until just combined.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and shape meat into a loaf shape. Dip fingers in water and smooth out the cracks with your if needed.

Place in oven and bake for about 20 minutes.&nbsp;

Combine ketchup, sugar and Worcestershire sauce and spoon half of it over the partially cooked loaf. Return to the oven.&nbsp;

Cook for 5-7 minutes longer and spoon the remainder of the sauce over meatloaf. Continue to cook until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees-- about 10-15 additional for a total of 35-45 minutes total cooking time.&nbsp;

Classic Air Fryer Meatloaf

(675 grams) pork and beef mince mix

chorizo

(89 grams) gluten free breadcrumbs

bell pepper

eggs (lightly beaten)

Dijon mustard

Tamari Soy Sauce (or Worcestershire sauce, if not gluten free)

Parmesan cheese

salt (to taste)

black pepper (to taste)

apple cider vinegar

Preheat Air Fryer to 390F / 200C.

Mix the ground pork and ground beef and chorizo in a bowl.

Then add the rest of the ingredients and combine.

Place mixture into a loaf pan or shape into a loaf and place onto aluminum foil.

Put in the air fryer basket and cook for about 20 - 35 minutes. (Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness).

While the meatloaf is cooking, mix the glaze. About 5 minutes before the meatloaf is done, spread the glaze over the meatloaf and cook until done.

Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool for approximately 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Air Fryer Meatloaf

The secret in this classic juicy meatloaf recipe is in the tangy and savory sauce added to the meatloaf as it bakes as well as for serving. Preheat

Preheat oven to 350F, with rack on middle position. Place large pan of water on lower rack underneath.

Sauté

In a large heavy saucepan, saute onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. Add a pinch of kosher salt, pinch of pepper, and the thyme. Saute 30 seconds more, and transfer to large bowl.

Combine

Add 1 tsp kosher salt, 1 tsp black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, eggs, beef broth, and bread crumbs. Whisk by hand to combine ingredients. Add ground beef and stir with wooden spoon until fully combined.

Form

Form beef mixture into a loaf (roughly 2x5x8) in a larger baking dish.

Pour

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, coarse mustard, and ketchup. Pour half of this sauce over the meatloaf.

Bake

Bake about 50 minutes. Brush on more sauce, reserving a little for serving, if desired. Bake 10 more minutes or until meatloaf is cooked through.

Serve

Let meatloaf sit at room temp about 10 minutes before cutting into it. Serve, and drizzle with any leftover sauce.

Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf

Lipton Dry Onion Soup Mix

Preheat oven to 375 degree. Line baking pan with foil or parchment paper for easy clean up.

Place ground beef in a large mixing bowl.

Add eggs, dry stuffing mix or bread crumbs, diced onions, tomato juice, parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle in Lipton Onion Soup Mix and combine. Do not over mix .

Place meatloaf mixture on baking sheet, form into loaf.

Combine ketchup, mustard and brown sugar. Slather over the top of the meatloaf.

Place meatloaf in preheated oven. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 1/5 minutes. Or until your meat thermometer registers 160 degrees.

Remove from oven, cover lightly with foil and allow to rest for 10 minutes prior to slicing.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, mix together the ground beef, garlic, onion, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings.If possible allow the meat to set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour.  (or overnight)

Shape the meat into a loaf and place it on a parchment lined baking dish. Bake in the 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

Meatloaf Mix

Mix the ingredients for the glaze in a small bowl, making sure it&#039;s well blended.

After 45 minutes remove the meatloaf from the oven and spoon the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.Then place the meatloaf back into the oven.

Increase the oven temperature to 400 degrees and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

Allow the meatloaf to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serve it with your favorite sides.

Meatloaf Glaze

Here&#39;s my secret to the best classic meatloaf recipe! It&#39;s tender and moist, layered with flavor, and brushed with a tasty meatloaf sauce. Watch the video below to see how I make this in my kitchen!

Combine ingredients

Combine ingredients. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, onion, garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, oats, milk, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Using your hands, mix together the ingredients until well combined, but try not to over-mix.

Form loaf

Form a loaf. On a casserole pan or rimmed baking sheet, form the mixture into an approximate 9x5-inch loaf. Alternatively, you can add the mixture to a loaf pan.

Brush glaze

Coat with the glaze. In a small bowl, stir together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar. Brush it all over the top of the meatloaf.

Cook

Cook. Place the meatloaf in the oven and cook for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature has reached 160°F (70°C).

Slice and serve

Slice and serve. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then, slice it up and serve!
