Turned out great! I didn’t have Italian dressing so I left that out but it was still delicious.

I omitted the bourbon and dressing; it was still a hit! I used what I had: thighs (dark meat is better anyway), turbinado sugar, Himalayan pink salt, and gluten free bread. I served with pickles and butter lettuce besides coleslaw. When the bread ran out, I used tortillas to make tacos. 

Bonus: I used a chicken shredding hack! If you have a stand mixer, use that while the chicken is still warm. Beats forks.

DELICIOUS!  Super easy to make and had all the ingredients already!

5 star, home run right out of the park!  But heavy on the garlic powder for me, so I cut to 1 tsp., and I'll go a little scant on the bourbon next time.  I was worried about cooking breasts that long on high, but they fell apart & got "burnt/baked/crunchy" ends like if you had smoked it outside.

These Brown Sugar BBQ Chicken Sandwiches Let Your Slow Cooker Do All The Work!

A rich, deeply flavored, sweet, Crockpot BBQ chicken dinner - that you fix, and forget!

Crockpot BBQ Chicken

onion (coarsely chopped)

chicken

Tbs smoked paprika

Salt and pepper

olive oil

½ onion (finely diced (not a typo, we use onion twice here))

garlic (minced)

fire roasted tomatoes (15 ounce)

cornstarch

red wine vinegar

brown sugar

Worcestershire sauce

cracked pepper

Add the coarsely diced onion to the crockpot.

Sprinkle paprika, salt and pepper onto the chicken, and in a large pan sear on both sides (2 mins per side)

Place chicken into the crockpot, on top of the onions.

For Chicken

In the same pan you used to sear the chicken, add 1 tsp olive oil and heat over medium.

Saute the onion for a few minutes until softened, then add the garlic. Cook for 30 seconds

Add cornstarch to the canned tomatoes, and add the mixture, plus the vinegar, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce and pepper to the pan.

Simmer for a few minutes. You may wish to blend the sauce at this point for a smoother consistency.

Add sauce to crockpot, covering chicken and mix until combined.

Make the Sauce

Cook on low for 4-5 hours

Set, and forget!

Remove chicken from crockpot, and put on a plate, spooning the extra sauce over the top.

Devour.

Serve

In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder.

Place

Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Coat

Shred

Crockpot BBQ Pulled Chicken

lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs

tsp chili powder

tsp smoked paprika

BBQ sauce ((recommend Bullseye original), divided)

Tbsp steak sauce ((recommend A1))

Place chicken in 5 - 7 quart slow cooker (I use this one).

In a small mixing bowl whisk together chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.

Pour spice mixture over chicken and add grated onion. Toss well to evenly coat chicken with spices.

Evenly pour 3/4 cup BBQ sauce over the chicken.

Cover and cook on low heat 4 - 6 hours until chicken shreds easily and registers 165 degrees in center.

Transfer chicken to a cutting board, reserve liquid from the slow cooker. Skim fat from the liquid and discard the fat.

Shred chicken with two forks (I do it a little larger than I want it to end up because as you toss again in the next step it shreds up a bit on it&#039;s own).

Return chicken to slow cooker. Heat remaining 3/4 cup BBQ sauce with 2 Tbsp steak sauce in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave until warm (about 1 - 2 minutes).

Pour 3/4 cup of the reserved liquid and the BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken then toss to evenly coat. If you feel it needs a little more moisture you can add another splash of the reserved liquid (or more BBQ sauce), also season to taste with a little more salt if needed.

Serve the pulled bbq chicken in hamburger buns (I also like to add coleslaw, with a little blue cheese mixed in sometimes too).

Add the shredded chicken. Stir well to coat. Keep warm until ready to serve.

The Best Crockpot BBQ Chicken (Easy Pulled Chicken)

Italian dressing (I use this fat-free one)

light brown sugar (can reduce to 1/8 cup or omit if you prefer it less sweet)

First liberally spray the inside of a large crockpot or slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray, or for less mess, use one of these awesome disposable liners.

Next, season your trimmed boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, and place in the bottom of your crockpot.

In a medium size mixing bowl, add barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until combined.

Pour mixture evenly over chicken breasts, place the lid on the crockpot, and cook on high for 2.5-3 hours or low for 5-6 hours.

Use this meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked to 165 degrees internal temperature.

Once fully cooked, you can either serve whole or use two forks to shred chicken. I like to shred it right in the crockpot to soak up all the extra chicken marinade and BBQ sauce.

This was way better than pulled chicken recipes I’ve had before! I never would have thought of Italian dressing. I tripled the recipe for a party. It made enough sauce to set some aside, which is good because I hate thin, watery sauce. When chicken was done I removed it, ditched the juices, put chicken back in with the thick, yummy sauce I had set aside. (Just because I’m picky!) But the recipe itself I followed exactly, though I didn’t triple the Worchestershire sauce bc it smelled pretty strong. Make this!

A juicy, delicious alternative to pulled pork, this crockpot BBQ chicken is packed full of sweet, tangy barbecue flavor and is so simple to make.

The Best Crockpot BBQ Chicken Recipe

chicken breast (5-6 medium breasts)

Tbsp smoked paprika

tsp sea salt

In a small bowl, mix together the seasonings until they&#039;re fully combined.

On a plate, spread out the chicken breasts then season well. Use your hands to make sure both sides are completely covered.

In the crockpot, place the seasoned chicken breasts, then cover with the BBQ sauce, sugar and Worcestershire Sauce. Stir so that the chicken is completely covered with the sauce.

Cook the chicken on HIGH for 3 hours. Check the breasts at the 2 ½ hour mark – the internal temperature should be 165°F/75°C when the crockpot BBQ chicken is perfectly cooked. If you don&#39;t have a thermometer, check that the juices run clear and the chicken is easy to shred with a fork.

Once the chicken is fully cooked, use two forks to shred the breasts into smaller pieces - you can do this in a separate dish. At the end, pour all the BBQ sauce over the chicken, mix well, and serve.

Crockpot BBQ Chicken take just minutes to get into the slow cooker. Hours later you have flavorful, fork tender chicken perfect for sandwiches, salads or even quesadillas!&nbsp;

Place the 2 pounds chicken thigh fillets and sliced 1/2 sweet onion in the slow cooker. Toss with the 1/4 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup water and 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce. 

In a small bowl, whisk together the 3 tablespoons light brown sugar, 2 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 tablespoon Kosher salt, 1 teaspoon ground pepper and 2 teaspoons garlic powder. 

Pour the sauce over the chicken and onions, tossing to coat.

Set the slow cooker for 3 hours on high or 6 hours on low.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chicken to a cutting board or plate. Using two forks, shred the chicken.

Reserve 1/2 cup of cooking liquid, discarding the rest. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and toss with the reserved liquid until ready to serve. This will keep it moist.

Serve the chicken with your favorite BBQ Sauce.
