Melt butter in 9&#215;9 inch baking dish in the oven.

Stir together the blueberries, 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.  Spoon that into the bottom of the baking dish on top of the butter.

Whisk together the flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Using a pastry cutter cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.  Stir in the buttermilk just until the mixture is moistened.  Drop the dough by rounded spoonfuls on to the blueberries.  Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.  Bake for 35-40 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.

Blueberry cobbler is always a hit at our house but haven't tried it with buttermilk. Gotta give it a go!

After seeing that first photo I had to run into the kitchen and make this last night.  My whole family especially the dear husband went nuts over this, didn't make enough!!  no leftovers and barely got to have a bite!

Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray a 9 x 9 square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.

In a medium bowl, stir together the flour with 1 cup of the sugar. Add in the milk and then pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.&nbsp;

Spread mixture into a prepared baking dish and top with blueberries. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.

Bake on the middle oven rack uncovered for 45 minutes - hour, until the top is a light golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. 

Allow to slightly cool before serving. We love ours topped with additional blueberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Enjoy!
