Super Easy 5 Ingredient Chili is a recipe for chili where you can enjoy big flavor without a lot of individual spices and chopping. By using some help from the grocery store, you get a flavorful chili on the table fast.

Super Easy 5 Ingredient Chili

Packet Chili Mix (I

Tomatoes

Water

Chili Beans (These are beans

Lean Ground Beef

Onion (Finely Chopped)

Brown the ground beef and onions on the saute setting. Salt and pepper generously.

When the beef is brown and the onions are translucent, pour in the tomatoes, water, chili beans and seasoning packet.

Stir everything together and set the vent to sealing.

Cook on High Pressure for 8 minutes. Allow the pot to natural release for 5 minutes. Release the rest of the steam and serve.

Instant Pot Instructions (Or other Electric Pressure Cooker)

Brown the beef and onions on the stove. Generously season with salt and pepper.

In the insert of a slow cooker add in the beef, onions, tomatoes, water, and seasoning packet.&nbsp; Cook on low for 4-6 hours.

Slow Cooker Instructions

Brown the ground beef and onion in large dutch oven. Generously season with salt and pepper.

Pour in the tomatoes, water and seasoning packet. Cook on low for 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to concentrate and come together.

Stove Top Instructions

Classic Chili

red bell pepper,

onion, chopped

garlic, chopped

(45 ml) vegetable oil

lb (454 g) ground beef

(60 ml) chili powder

(10 ml) coriander

(5 ml) ground cumin

(5 ml) ground ginger

cayenne (optional)

(45 ml) molasses

(45 ml) ketchup

Dijon mustard

(30 ml) red wine vinegar

(796 ml/28 oz) crushed tomatoes

(540 ml/19 oz) red kidney beans

Salt and pepper

(15 ml) whole-grain mustard

In a Dutch oven or large pot over medium heat, soften the bell pepper, onion and garlic in the oil. Add the meat and brown. Add the spices and cook for 2 minutes. 
Add the molasses and ketchup and cook for 2 minutes. Add the Dijon mustard, vinegar, tomatoes and beans. Lower the heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from the heat and stir in the whole-grain mustard.


Wow. Simply WOW. An outstanding recipe and super easy to make. Great flavour with tons of opportunities to customize. Next time I will make with chorizo sausage. You could certainly modify this to a veggie chili. Superb!

I was looking for something a little different from the usual chili that I make, and was intrigued by some of the ingredients in this recipe, such as the molasses.  It didn't disappoint!  Sweet and smoky, it's a great chili.  I love that it's nice and thick, not at all watery.  I like it with the addition of corn.

Loved this! I did use a pound of ground elk and two hot italian sausages instead of the ground beef .... just because that’s what I had. Really really good. I’ll definitely be making this again.

Too much tomato - recipe is very high in acid and it overpowers all the great spices it contains. Would also like more kidney beans for texture.

Tasty, perhaps the coffee adds a darkness that suits us. Replaced the ketchup with the Compliments Craft Beer Chipotle sauce you can get at Sobeys. Replaced the quarter cup of water with Steamwhistle beer. Did I mention tasty?

I made this dish last night fast and easy.  As my family likes it a bit more spicy, I added chili spice to the meat as it was browning.  I served it with cheese beer biskets.  I thought adding the coffee was a nice touch. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Freezer Chili Recipe

28 oz can crushed fire roasted tomatoes

14 oz can diced fire roasted tomatoes

chicken broth

chili seasoning

Cook up ground beef, drain and cool

Store in 1 pound portions in freezer bags

Chop up several onions and store in freezer bags (or add 1/2 cup to each bag of ground beef)

Remove stems and seeds and dice several jalapeños and store in freezer bags (or add 2 tablespoons to each bag of ground beef)

Make up a batch of chili seasoning

If desired, freeze the bags as is, or add seasoning and remaining ingredients and freeze until ready to cook

Vegetarian Chili

onion – diced

celery – diced

1 jalapeño pepper – seeds removed and minced

garlic – minced

olive oil

potato

15 oz can of black beans

tbs chili powder

tbs cumin

tsp red pepper flakes

vegetable stock

Lime wedges

tbs cilantro – minced

Add one tablespoon of olive oil to a large pot over medium heat.  Add chopped onion, celery, jalapeño pepper and garlic.  Cook over medium low heat for 5 minutes until soft.

Add diced sweet potatoes, black beans, diced tomatoes, quinoa and spices.  Add 2 1/2 cups of vegetable stock and bring to a boil.  Turn down the heat to low and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes until sweet potato is tender and soft.

Serve with a squeeze of lime and cilantro sprinkled on top.  Or add your favorite toppings.

We were just hit with that winter storm on the east coast, so the weather is definitely perfect for ALL the chili!  I prefer vegetarian or chicken chili, so this is right up my alley!  I love the sweet potato and quinoa in here!  Plus that kick of jalapeno is everything!  I bet this tastes even better than it looks!!  A must try for sure!  Cheers and stay warm!

This chili was DELICIOUS! The whole family loved it. Ditching my old chili recipe for this one. The bell peppers and celery make all the difference.

This was really yummy. It tasted like cumin. It could have had more flavor. But it was a hit in my house. The kids ate it up. I added 3lbs of beef. Soooo delicious. I will make it again.

Easy Homemade Chili

Tablespoons chili powder

garlic salt

pepper

paprika

cayenne ((or more if you want it spicier))

Cheddar cheese (optional)

Sour cream (optional)

Add the olive oil to a large soup pot over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the onion and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the ground beef and sausage to the pot and cook, breaking apart into small pieces with a wooden spoon, until browned. Drain any grease.

Add the vinegar and cook for 1 minute. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato juice, ketchup, beans, brown sugar, chili powder, garlic salt, pepper, paprika, cumin and cayenne.

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring, then reduce the heat and simmer over medium-low heat for a at least one hour, or up to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Serve in bowls with a dollop or sour cream and a sprinkle of cheese on top.

Serve chili with: cornbread, biscuits, or a green salad.

Cover the pot and simmer the chili over very low heat for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Break up the big tomatoes with a wooden spoon or a fork as you stir.

Add the beans and simmer the mixture for 10-15 minutes longer. Thin the chili with extra beef broth, if necessary. Discard the bay leaf. Ladle into individual serving bowls and garnish with desired toppings.

Easy Chili made with only 6 ingredients! This simple homemade chili is made with pantry staples and thrown together in minutes.

Easy Chili Recipe (Only 6 Ingredients!)

chili seasoning (store-bought or homemade (1 packet))

kidney beans (fully drained and rinsed (2 (15-ounce) cans))

cilantro

Sour cream

Shredded cheese

Crackers

Heat

Heat beef in a dutch oven over medium high heat, crumbling as it cooks.

Stir

Once beef is crumbled, stir in the chili seasoning and continue to stir while it cooks.

When beef is no longer pink, stir in the beans, salsa, beef broth, and cilantro. Stir to fully combine.

Simmer

Reduce heat to simmer and allow to cook for 15-20 minutes.

Just made this.  It was soo easy.  The grandkids ALL loved it including 2 of my picky eaters.  Will make this again soon.  Great for the cold weather.

Just made this for dinner and it was very easy and delicious!  Used Aldi’s chili seasoning packet and Chi Chi’s medium chunky salsa.  Didn’t add cilantro but served with cheese and sour cream.

So easy and so delicious!  I skipped the chili seasoning and used Bushes chili beans therefore no rinsing.   I used less beef broth because of my beans.  I like Aldi’s organic salsa.

I really enjoyed this recipe! I made it with half ground beef, and half turkey, mild chili seasoning, and mild salsa. I had to use cilantro from a tube, because that’s what I had on hans. It was so easy to make, it felt like I was cheating. I’ll definitely be making this one again.
