Classic Southern Fried Pork Chops

tsp cayenne pepper (plus more to taste)

In a small bowl, combine granulated garlic, onion, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper.

Pat dry pork chops with a paper towel. Using your hands, rub Dijon mustard all over the pork chops.

Sprinkle the spice mix and evenly rub into the chops on each side.&nbsp;

Dredge in flour really well on both sides and set aside.

Preheat a large, about 12-13-inch, heavy (cast iron is recommended) frying pan over medium-high heat.

Fry the bacon strips, on both sides, until crisp and fat has rendered out. Remove the bacon and reserve for other uses.

Add vegetable oil to the frying pan. Let the oil warm up to cooking temperature, about 325F.

Dredge each pork chop in flour again, making sure each side is covered really well. Place in the frying pan and cook over medium heat about 4-5 minutes per side, until deep golden brown and the internal temperature of the pork reached 145F. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the pork chops you are using.

Remove pork chops, place on a platter and cover with foil and let rest for 3 minutes before serving.

pork shoulder chops ((about 3/4 inch thick, washed and pat dry))

Place pork chops in a bowl, add all of the marinade ingredients, and mix well. The cornstarch should provide some body to the marinating liquid so the flavors stick to the chops. Set aside for at least 1 hour.

Heat the oil in a large cast iron pan to 350 degrees F. Make the dredge by combining the flour, pepper (both kinds), and salt in a shallow bowl. Dredge each pork chop with the flour mixture.

Place the pork chops in the oil 2 at a time to fry for about 4 minutes on each side or until crispy and golden brown. Place on paper towels to drain. Serve with greens and iced tea!

Next whisk hot sauce into buttermilk and dip pork chops into buttermilk mixture.  Allow to soak for an hour.

In a large plastic bag, add flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and paprika and mix until combined.

Put pork chops into seasoned flour and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.  Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes to set flour.

EASY PAN FRIED PORK CHOPS

In a shallow bowl or dish, combine flour, corn starch, lemon pepper seasoning and cajun seasoning. Mix it all together until combined.

Pour oil in the skillet (over medium high heat). You need it nice and hot.

With a paper towel, pat the pork chops until they are dry.

Sprinkle lightly with a bit of kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Don&#039;t be too heavy handed here because the lemon pepper and cajun seasoning also have salt and pepper in it as well.

Dredge the pork chops in the flour mixture (one at a time) and shake off excess flour. Set them aside until ready to fry.

Once all the pork chops are floured, add two tablespoons of butter to the skillet and let it melt in the oil.

Add pork chops to the skillet. Don&#039;t overcrowd the pan. If your skillet is small, you may need to only cook 2 at a time.

Adjust the heat to medium. Usually a cast iron skillet does a good job of hanging onto heat and distributing it evenly. So make a judgement call, if they are cooking too fast just turn it down a bit.

Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side. An internal temperature of the pork chops should be a minimum of 145F degrees for medium rare and a maximum temperature of 160F degrees for well done.

Serve these right away with your favorite sides.

Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cut a few slits in the fat surrounding the pork chops. This will help with keeping the chops from curling up while frying.

Heat butter and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet set over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to the hot oil and cook for 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Pork chops are cooked through when internal temperature reaches 140˚F. Use an instant read thermometer for best results. Also, cooking time will depend on the thickness of the pork chops; they should be up to 1/2-inch thick.

10-Minute Pan-Fried Boneless Pork Chops

boneless pork chops (cut 3/4" to 1" thick)

To a large cast iron pan, add just enough oil to fully cover the bottom of the pan. Heat over medium-high heat until it&#x27;s hot enough to sear meat, about 375F.

Sear the pork chops on one side for about 3-4 minutes, until the side is deep golden brown. Flip and continue frying for another 3-4 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 145F.

Place the eggs in a bowl along with 1 tablespoon water. Whisk to combine.

Place the all purpose flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic and onion powder in a second bowl.

Mix the flour and spices until well combined.

One at a time, coat the pork chops in the flour, then dip in the egg, then coat again in the flour. Repeat until all pork chops are coated.

Heat 3 inches of oil in a large pan to 350 degrees F.

Cook the pork chops for 5-7 minutes per side or until golden brown.

While the pork chops are cooking, make the gravy.

Melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until combined. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the milk to the pan and bring to a simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until gravy has just thickened. Stir in salt and pepper to taste.

Transfer cooked pork chops to a serving platter and leave the drippings in the pan so you can make the gravy.

To Make Fried Pork Chops:

Add chicken broth, onion and garlic powder, and Creole seasoning or cajun seasoning to the drippings.

Simmer the sauce until the desired consistency is reached.

Finish the sauce with salt and pepper, if needed, and two tablespoons of butter.

To Make The Gravy:

Preheat the air fryer to 350F/180C.

Dredge the pork chop in the buttermilk and then the seasoned flour, being sure also to coat the sides.

Place in the air fryer basket. Make sure the pork chops are not touching.

Cooking can be anytime between 8-12 minutes, depending on the thickness of pork chops flipping the pork chops halfway through. My air-fried pork chops took 9 minutes. When cooking these the first time, I recommend aiming for 10 minutes and then checking.

Remove the air fried pork chops from the basket and serve.
