How To Make Easy Rose Strawberries

Large Strawberries (with pointed tips and leaves, washed and dried)

Wooden skewer (to hold strawberry)

Pairing knife

Insert the skewer into the bottom of the strawberry (where the leaves are)

With the pointed end of the strawberry upwards, you are ready to start carving!

Starting at the bottom, make a small slit but do not cut all the way through.

Use your knife to very gently curl the tip of the "petal" by pressing it back.

This is your first petal!

Repeat on the other 3 sides of the strawberry until you have four "petals" at the base of the strawberry.

Now let's make another row!

Starting above the row you just made, between two petals, make another slit.

Curl the petal back gently.

Repeat on the other 3 sides of the strawberry.

To finish the rose, make a slit down the tip and press back gently to curl the tips.

Flavored with lime jello and thickened with cream cheese and mayonnaise, this retro dessert has the sweet taste of lime sorbet with mixed fruit and pecans.

Creamy Lime Jello Salad

cream cheese (softened)

Using a stand mixer (or a hand mixer + large bowl), whip cream cheese and powdered lime jello on medium-high speed until thoroughly combined, about 5-8 minutes. Remove bowl from mixer.

Boil 3 cups of water, then pour boiling water into the bowl with the cream cheese. Use a spatula to stir until the jello has dissolved and cream cheese has melted.

Transfer bowl to the refrigerator and chill for 1-2 hours, stirring frequently, until consistency has slightly thickened. Mixture is ready once a ring starts to form along the edges of the bowl.

Remove bowl from refrigerator. Add mayonnaise, fruit cocktail, and chopped pecans to bowl, then stir thoroughly until mayonnaise has dissolved into the liquid.

Spray a 16 cup bundt pan (standard bundt pan size) with cooking spray, then pour the jello salad mixture inside. Use a spatula to smooth out the top so that there aren't any producing pieces of pecans or fruit.

Place bundt pan in the refrigerator and chill until jello is completely set, usually anywhere from 3-5 hours. For best results, let jello set overnight.

When ready to serve, remove bundt pan from refrigerator. Place a serving dish over the top of the bundt pan, then hold the plate in place while flipping the bundt pan over (so that the bundt pan ends up on top of the plate). If the jello doesn't immediately fall out, lift the bundt pan up about 1 inch and gently shake downwards; jello should quickly fall out.

Creamy jello salad can be served immediately or stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.

unsalted butter ((1/2 cup))

evaporated milk (or half and half)

Chè Thái is a delicious sweet soup that is as easy to make as it is to eat.

Chè Thái Recipe (Vietnamese Fruit Cocktail)

(1) 20 oz can whole water chestnut (you only need half)

red food coloring

c tapioca starch

(1) 20 oz can jackfruit

(1) 20 oz can lychee

(1) 20 oz can longan

(1) 19 oz can ai-yu jelly

(1) 20 oz can toddy palm seeds

coconut (you will need the juice & meat)

(1) 13.5 oz can coconut milk

Open the water chestnut can and drain. You will only need about half of the water chestnuts.

Cut the water chestnuts into small pieces about ¼ inch and place them in a large bowl (the coating of the tapioca starch will make them bigger).

Add a few drops of red food coloring to the small pieces and mix thoroughly. Make sure there isn’t extra water or food coloring in the bowl because this will make the tapioca starch extra gummy.

Add one cup of tapioca starch to the bowl and cover all the water chestnuts evenly. To remove extra starch, place the water chestnuts in a colander and sift. You want to prevent extra starch from going into the boiling water because it will make the water gummy, too.

Boil a pot with about two inches of water over medium-high heat. In small batches, add the covered water chestnuts and stir to prevent them from sticking. When the chestnut float to the top, remove them from the boiling water and put them in an ice water bath and stir again to keep from sticking.

Keep them in the bath for at least 10 minutes.

Open all the canned fruit, save the syrup from one can in a separate container. I like lychee the best, so I save this syrup. We found that if you mix the syrup from all the cans, the taste can get quite muddled.

Cut jackfruit into slices, cut lychee into large slices, and cut toddy palm into thin slices. Keep the longan in its original shape since these come fairly small. Combine all fruit into a large container.

Open coconut and set aside juice, carve out slices of coconut meat.

In another container, combine coconut milk and coconut juice. Slowly start to add the juice syrup to sweeten the milk, you want to begin by adding ½ a cup at a time. Adjust to your taste. Add the sweetened coconut milk, juice, and meat into the large container with the fruit and stir.

I prefer fridging the chè Thái for a couple of hours before serving so it’s nice and cold, but you can also add crushed ice if you want to serve immediately.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Add butter, egg, and milk and mix until just combined.

Spoon batter evenly into the lined muffin tin.

Bake muffins for 20-24 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Old-fashioned strawberry shortcake in cookie form! An easy, one-bowl recipe that’s full of strawberries! 

Strawberry Shortcake Cookies

oz cream cheese (room temperature)

butter (softened)

white sugar

baking soda

white chocolate

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

In a large bowl cream together cream cheese and butter.

Add in sugar and egg.

Add in flour.

Sprinkle the baking powder, salt and baking soda over the flour.

Use a rubber spatula to work in the flour until a dough forms.

fold in chocolate chips and frozen strawberries.

Using a mini cookie scoop, scoop out the cookie dough and place on prepared baking sheet.

Press pieces of frozen strawberries into the cookies (this will make the cookies look prettier when they are done with bits of strawberries peeping out)

Bake for about 10 minutes.

Transfer cookies to a cooling rack.

Store in airtight container

I had a similar issue and I just checked my baking powder and it was 2 years old! I’m going to try with fresh baking powder soon, so be sure to test your baking powder or buy a fresh tin.

Very, very good! I've never tasted anything like this before. My little one and I made these for his Valentines Day party but I keep eating on them and I'm not sure if they will make it to school tomorrow. LOL!

My only variations were adding a little red food coloring, some vanilla extract, and I cooked them for 12 minutes. Chef's kiss!

With many cookie doughs, you get a better cookie if you refrigerate the dough before baking.  You get a cookie crisp on the edge and soft in the middle.  I can't believe the difference it makes.  After making the dough, simply refrigerate for an hour before scooping.

Yummy!! I made these tonight and they turned out so tasty! The only thing I added was a tsp of vanilla. I’ll definitely be making these again!

I made this and I have no problem with the taste. It’s the texture I was so frustrated about. It’s like a pancake texture. I tried making this 2 times and always getting a soft texture even though I put it in the oven for 18-20 minutes. I’m about to give up  But i’ll try again tomorrow.

15.2 oz cans of fruit cocktail

Sift together the 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp cinnamon.

Combine the 2 whole eggs and drained fruit cocktail and stir until combined, then mix into the dry ingredients. Don't overmix.

Pour into a greased 9'' x 13'' pan and smooth out to make an even layer.
