Ginger Hot Pot with Pork is not just a flavoursome dish but also has health benefits. Ginger Hot Pot with Pork

garlic chives (cut into 8cm / 3” long pieces.)

ginger (peeled and very finely julienned (note 2))

milliliters / 10 fl oz dashi stock

tbsp shiro dashi ((note 3))

tsp light soy sauce ((note 4))

salt

Put the julienned ginger in a medium-size bowl filled with water (this reduces the sharp spiciness of the ginger). Leave it for 15 minutes, then drain.

If your pork belly slices are very long, cut them into about 10cm / 4” long pieces.

Put all the Broth ingredients into a single-serving clay pot or a small shallow pot and bring it to a boil.

Add the pork to the pot/pan. Reduce the heat to medium when it starts boiling and cook until the surface of the pork just changes colour to light brown. Remove scum as it surfaces.

Spread garlic chives over the pork, then scatter the ginger to cover the surface.

Cook for a couple of minutes until the garlic chives are cooked through and are wilted. You may want to push the vegetables down using chopsticks or a spatula so that they submerge in the broth.

Turn the heat off and serve with a small serving bowl.

Garlic Chives and Egg Stir-fry with Bean Sprouts is a quick and easy dish, made by stir-frying garlic chives, bean sprouts, and eggs. The flavour is just soy sauce and salt with a couple of pinches of black pepper. The sesame oil used to stir-fry the ingredients adds a nutty flavour too.Don&#39;t forget to see the section &#39;MEAL IDEAS&#39; below the recipe card! Garlic Chives and Egg Stir-fry with Bean Sprouts

bean sprouts

1½ tbsp sesame oil

¼-⅜ tsp salt ((note 2))

soy sauce

pepper

Put half of the sesame oil in a frying pan and heat over medium heat.

Add the egg to the pan and mix quickly using cooking chopsticks or a fork as if you are making a scrambled egg.

While the surface of the egg is still uncooked and slightly wet, transfer it to the bowl (note 3, see the step-by-step photo).

Add the remaining sesame oil to the pan (heat is still medium heat).

Add the bean sprouts and garlic chives to the pan and stir for a couple of minutes until the garlic chives change the colour to darker green and wilt.

Return the egg to the pan, add salt and pepper and mix, breaking the egg into smaller pieces.

Add soy sauce around the outer edge of the pan, then quickly mix into the stir-fry (note 4).

Transfer to a serving plate and serve immediately.

Once again Yumiko another simple BUT very tasty, its 2.31am on 13th Nov stressing alittle about surgeryin the morning haven't felt eating all day. Saw this ,though might be good , just finished eating loved loveloved your eggs...
