Maroulosalata is a traditional Greek salad that is a staple in Greek kitchens. It’s such an easy salad to make and is great any time of year because Romaine lettuce doesn’t change much from Summer to Winter. Also, the dill, green onion, and feta cheese are easy to source year-round.This crowd-pleasing salad takes just minutes to toss together and it&#039;s easy to double the recipe.

Maroulosalata - Greek Lettuce Salad

head romaine (1 lb or 2 hearts romaine lettuce)

green onion or scallions (chopped (2/3 cup))

dill (chopped (2-3 Tbsp))

oz feta cheese (crumbled)

extra virgin olive oil

lemon (juiced (3 Tbsp))

tsp fine sea salt

tsp black pepper

Chop the lettuce - Thinly slice your lettuce and rinse in very cold water. Spin dry in a salad spinner.*

Make the dressing - In a separate bowl (or in a mason jar), combine olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Whisk or shake up until well blended.

Assemble the Salad- Add the lettuce, green onion/scallion, dill and feta.*

Toss - When ready to serve, drizzle the dressing over the salad (I use all of it) and use tongs to thoroughly toss the salad with the dressing. You want to massage the dressing into the salad to soften it a bit and infuse flavor. Garnish with more dill if desired and enjoy!

My new favorite salad. I love the simplicity, versatility and taste. All of the flavors work so well together. I love that it can be a side or a main dish. I added  boiled egg to mine for some protein. I’m looking forward to eating this as a weekly staple.

I've been making this salad on repeat. Soooo good! Sometimes I add cucumbers and marinated olives to change it up.

Surprisingly good salad. I added a little sugar to the dressing. We ate ours with a baked chicken breast, for a complete meal. Anticipate some competition for the leftovers at tomorrow's lunch.

Greek Maroulosalata | Light, Fresh & So Easy! #shorts

Crispy cool lettuce, fresh dill and creamy feta cheese are tossed with a bright and tangy lemon vinaigrette for a wonderfully refreshing and flavorful salad that pairs with just about everything!

Maroulosalata (Greek Lettuce Salad)

lettuce

green onions/scallions (, sliced)

dill (, chopped (about 1/4 cup))

sheep's feta cheese (, can substitute cow feta)

juice of one large lemon (, about 3 tablespoons)

salt

white or black pepper

To make the dressing, blend the olive oil, lemon juice and salt/pepper in a food processor or blender, or whisk vigorously in a bowl until it&#39;s emulsified. If you&#39;re not using it immediately, store it in a jar in the fridge until ready to use and shake it thoroughly before using. 

Place the lettuce, green onions, dill and feta in a large mixing bowl.Pour all of the dressing over the salad and toss it together using your hands to massage the greens and to break down and more evenly distribute the feta.Serve immediately.

I've never had maroulosalata before but I love dill and feta so I knew I'd love this.  We ate it on the patio yesterday for lunch with some sourdough bread.  It was the perfect outdoor lunch for a beautiful sunny day.  I will definitely make this again.

We really enjoyed this.  I had a bunch of feta cheese I picked up from Costco that needed to be used and I just happened to stumble upon this while I was looking up some other recipes on your site.  The freshness and flavor were perfect.  I'm so glad I found this recipe, it's now in my recipes file to keep on regular salad rotation :)

This was WONDERFUL!  I picked up on the feta and dill during my grocery run this morning, already had the romaine, and whipped this up for lunch to go with the fresh loaf of sourdough that came out of my oven.  My husband and I enjoyed it as a light lunch and between the two of us finished over half of the salad (so maybe not so "light" after all, lol!).  We both loved it!
