Ground Beef Tacos

olive oil

Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef in large chunks to skillet spacing apart. Season with salt and pepper.&nbsp;

Let brown on bottom, about 3 minutes then flip, break up beef and continue to cook until almost cooked through, about 2 minutes.

Add garlic, chili powder, cumin, onion powder and continue to cook until beef is just cooked through, about 1 minute.

Pour in chicken broth and tomato sauce. Simmer over medium-low heat until sauce has reduced and thickened, about 3 - 5 minutes.

Serve warm over warmed tortillas with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and other desired toppings (see notes).

These easy ground beef tacos are the best. We might even like them better than shredded beef tacos. Why? Cooking takes 15 minutes or less.

As a Hispanic person, this recipe is a sad excuse for taco meat. Substitute fire roasted tomatoes for freshly diced Roma tomatoes, add it in a separate bowl with chopped lettuce and onion, add cilantro and lime to taste. I haven't managed to figure out how to fix the ground beef from tasting weird so I suggest just using Lengua, barbaquoa, or Al Pastor or looking up an authentic recipe online. I'm really disappointed with how this turned out, but I should have used better judgment instead of just taking the cheapest route.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Prepare a casserole dish by lightly spraying cooking spray and then placing taco shells standing up into the dish.

Cook and crumble ground beef in a skillet. Once fully cooked drain fat Add salsa, taco seasoning, and rinsed and drained black beans. Mix together well on low heat until heated through.

Spoon bean and beef mixture to each taco. Top each taco with shredded cheese and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and taco shells cooked.

Remove from oven and top shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes or your favorite taco toppings.

The perfect blend of herbs and spices, along with garlic, jalapeno and onion, make this homemade ground beef taco filling absolute best ever!

Mexican Ground Beef Tacos

Heat oil in a large skillet for 2 minutes over medium-high heat until the hot oil sizzles. Add ground beef and stir well to cook evenly until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Make sure to break up beef into small pieces to help even browning.

Add cumin, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, tomato paste and beef broth. Reduce heat to medium and let the mixture simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens a bit, stirring occasionally. Turn off heat and set aside. 

Heat the soft flour tortillas according to the package instructions, or heat in an ungreased skillet over medium-high heat for 30 seconds per side. You can also heat it directly on a gas burner for a few seconds to get char marks on the edges.

Add 2-3 tablespoons of the ground beef mixture on each tortilla. Top with cheese, onion, tomato and cilantro. Add a dollop of sour cream and a squeeze of fresh lime juice, to taste.

The homemade taco seasoning for the meat in this recipe is so good!  Came in handy because I didn't have any taco seasoning on hand but I think I like this homemade one even better.  Tasted awesome in the tacos.  We ended up using corn tortillas because that's all I had at the house but will def try with flour tortillas next time.

Cook the ground beef until browned. Season with salt and pepper. Drain, if needed.

In a large frying pan heat up 1-1½ inches of vegetable oil.

Add about ⅓ cup of the meat mixture to the center of one tortilla. Fold the tortilla and clasp the top edges with tongs to keep it closed.

While holding the top of the tortilla place the bottom in the oil. Rock the tortilla from side to side a few times and then lie the tortilla on its side to fry.

Fry each side until golden brown and place on a plate lined with a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Fill each taco with lettuce and tomatoes before serving.

BBQ Beef Brisket Tacos Recipe

½ pound Beef Brisket

bbq sauce (divided)

salsa verde

tortillas (flour or white corn)

brown sugar

black pepper

unprepared coleslaw

cilantro

honey

juice of 1 lime (about 1 tablespoon)

salt and pepper (to taste)

Stir together seasoning rub. Rub all over Brisket.

Set pressure cooker to SEAR (see note for alternate cooking methods). Drizzle oil into instant pot. Brown Brisket on all sides (about 3-4 minutes on each side). Remove from pot.

Add 1 cup bbq sauce and water to pressure cooker, return Brisket to the pot. Cover and turn the vent to the SEALED position. Set to PRESSURE COOK (high) or MANUAL for 45 minutes. (Prepare slaw while Brisket is cooking)

Turn valve to VENT position. Once float valve drops, remove lid. Transfer Brisket to a cutting board, use a sharp knife to chop brisket into 1-inch chunks.

Prepare the Brisket

Toss together slaw and cilantro. Stir together mayo, honey, lime juice, and salt and pepper. Toss dressing and slaw. Taste, add salt and pepper if needed, cover and chill until ready to use.

Prepare the slaw

Fill tortillas with Brisket, top with slaw, additional bbq sauce, and salsa verde. Serve and enjoy!

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef to the skillet and cook, crumbling with a spoon or spatula, until browned. Drain any excess grease from the skillet. (If you used 90% or 93% lean ground beef there may not be any extra grease to drain.)

Reduce the heat to medium and add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, dried oregano, onion powder, salt, pepper, tomato sauce and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes, until taco meat is fully cooked and has reached your desired texture.

Serve the taco meat in warmed tortillas, with toppings as desired.

Heat a pan over medium to high heat add the ground beef and cook until the beef is not pink anymore, keep on breaking it up while cooking.

Put all the taco shells in your casserole from and fill them with the ground beef mixture - 1 to 2 tablespoons each.

Bake

Top with the grated cheese and bake for around 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Serve

Serve immediately with toppings of your choice (sour cream, salsa, avocados, cilantro, tomatoes, lettuce, beans, corn…)
