(Homemade!) Paleo & Keto CBD Gummies

CBD tincture (I used 5 ml)

cannabis leaf silicon mold (makes 20)

Make a batch of our keto gummies, whisking in your CBD oil at the very end (see note below). &nbsp;

Pour into a bowl right away and, using the gum drop, begin to fill up the silicon molds.&nbsp;

Allow the molds to come to room temperature, about 15 minutes, and place in the fridge for 30 minutes or until set. Keep stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about 2 weeks.&nbsp;

Note: The hardest thing will be to know how much CBD oil to add, as the dose will vary from person to person (and oil to oil). So it's crucial that you first test what dose works for you. For instance, my low dose is 0.25 ml (1/4 of a pipette). So with the leaf molds I got 20 leaf gummies, so I multiplied my standard dose by 20 ( 0.25 ml x 20 = 5 ml = 5 full pipettes).&nbsp;

How to Preserve Homemade Gummy Bears

gelatin powder

Combine Jell-o, gelatin and citric acid (if using)

Spray some cooking spray over the candy molds

Pour the candy mixture into the candy molds

Homemade gummy candy made using apple juice, sugar, and gelatin can be flavored and colored, and shaped into animals including gummy bears, worms, dinosaurs, sharks, fish, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, and more.

Gummies Recipe

Pour apple juice and sugar into a small saucepan.

Stir until the sugar disolves.

Sprinkle the gelatin over the juice, stir until blended, then let it sit for two minutes.

Set the saucepan on the stove over medium heat and bring to a boil.

Once it comes to a boil, remove the pan from the heat and let the foam subside.

Skim off any foam that remains using a spoon.

Set a gummy candy mold on a cutting board or baking tray.

Fill an eyedropper with the hot sugar syrup or pour the sugar syrup into a squeeze bottle, then squeeze it into the cavities in your gummy candy mold.

Once the eyedropper has a lot of air bubbles in it, squeeze the bubbly sugar syrup into the saucepan, then fill it up again.

Once the eyedropper is almost empty it will be filled with too many air bubbles. Squeeze the syrup along with the bubbles back into the saucepan, then refill it with more sugar syrup.

Set the mold aside at room temperature for 30-45 minutes until firm or speed up the process by freezing the mold for 10-20 minutes.

Un-mold the candies and they are ready to enjoy.

(Sour!) Paleo & Keto Gummies

vitamin C powder (or about 1 TBSP lemon juice, to taste)

gelatin (***)

raspberry powder (optional (but highly suggested!))

1/8-1/4 teaspoon vitamin C powder (to taste)

Add the water, raspberry powder (or flavor of choice), sweetener (starting with the lower amount) and vitamin C to a saucepan. Stir to combine and feel free to adjust the sweetness (or anything) to taste.&nbsp;

Add the gelatin, stir to combine and turn on the heat to low. Continue stirring to ensure everything is well dissolved and evenly distributed, about 3 minutes (do not let it simmer though!). Remove from heat once the mixture is smooth and you begin to see some steam.&nbsp;

For the keto gummies

Mix all the ingredients together in a small glass or bowl, adjusting sourness with the vitamin C to taste (I do 1/8 tsp, but you could definitely go to 1/4 tsp!). Mix in a serving of gummies, toss until evenly coated and enjoy right away.&nbsp;

Keep in mind that the sour version doesn't store well (the sour coating dissolves) and are best enjoyed right away!

For the sour gummy coating

For anyone who wants to get these chewier, I left them sitting out at room temperature for about 24 hours and the texture improved considerably. Very chewy. 

Overall, this is a great recipe. I think it needs a little more flavor though. Mine tasted a bit bland. I would probably up it to 3 tablespoons of the raspberry powder.

Best option to make them chewier is to use a dehydrator if you have one, after the gummies set. Take them out of mold, place on parchment lined cookie sheet. I put mine in my convection oven which also has a dehydrate option for 2 hours. You can always purchase a simple, inexpensive, multi-tray dehydrator (I also use my dehydrator to make Steak, pork and chicken Jerky) Since your dehydration time may vary, I suggest trying a gummie one at 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours... to test your desired level of chewiness.

To get the citric acid (sour coating) to stick, I mix up 1 tablespoon citric acid powder with 1/2 cup warm water into a measuring cup with spout and mix till dissolved. Then I pour mixture into a small spray bottle (got mine at the dollar store in beauty section). 

Grab a plastic food container, add 1/2 cup of Stevia and I use 2 teaspoons citric acid for the sour impact, mix well,  
Spray your gummies with wet mixture, then drop your 25 wet gummies (1 serving) into powdered mixture, close container and shake for 10 seconds (until coated). I use a slotted spoon to scoop them from container, gently tapping off extra powder. Now they are chewier, sweet n sour, gummies, ready to enjoy.  Store remaining gummies in a separate container. Spray n repeat for each  desired serving. You can always adjust wet or dry mixture to your taste.

Delicious Homemade Chinese Mango Candy You’ll Love!

Passion fruits (fresh)

Mango flesh

White sugar (for sweetening)

Mizuame (or maltose syrup)

Cornstarch (for gummy consistency)

Water

Butter

Cut the passion fruits in half and gently scoop out the pulp. Press the pulp in a sieve to extract 100-120 ml of juice. Dice the mango flesh into small pieces and blend until smooth.

In a saucepan, mix the passion fruit juice, mango puree, sugar, and mizuame. Heat over low, stirring until the syrup is completely dissolved.

As the fruit mixture begins to simmer, gradually pour in the cornstarch slurry, stirring quickly until it thickens.

Reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Add butter and stir until it's melted and fully integrated.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper, pour in the gummy mixture, and spread it evenly. Place another sheet of parchment on top and press down. Let it cool completely at room temperature for 1-2 hours.

Once set, peel off the parchment and cut the candies into squares or rectangles. Optionally, roll them in granulated sugar before serving.
