This cheeseburger pie is a combination of ground beef, cheese, bacon and seasonings, all baked together to golden brown perfection. Top your hamburger pie with pickles, lettuce and tomato for a family friendly dinner that everyone will love!

Cheeseburger Pie

bacon (chopped)

beef (I use 90% lean)

onion (finely diced)

salt and pepper

garlic powder

cheddar cheese

baking mix (such as Bisquick)

milk

eggs

cooking spray

toppings tomatoes

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9 inch deep dish pie pan or regular 10 inch pie pan with cooking spray.

Place a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the bacon and cook until crisp, 4-5 minutes.&nbsp;

Remove the bacon from the pan and place on a paper towel. Drain all but 1 teaspoon of bacon grease from the pan.

Add the ground beef and onion to the pan. Cook for 6-7 minutes, breaking up the beef with a spatula.&nbsp;

Stir in the salt, pepper and garlic powder and cook for 1 more minute.

Add 2/3 of the bacon back to the pan, reserving the remaining bacon for garnish.

Place the meat mixture in the pie plate. Sprinkle the cheese over the top.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the Bisquick, milk and eggs. Pour the batter over the meat and cheese in the pie plate.

Bake for 25 minutes or until pie is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

Top with remaining bacon and burger toppings such as tomatoes and lettuce.

Cut into wedges and serve immediately.

This is a great dish and a wonderful way to use up hamburger. It's a perfect week night meal.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  In a skillet, brown the hamburger, onion, and green pepper with the salt, pepper, garlic, oregano and hot sauce.  Drain the hamburger mixture.

Spray a 10 inch pie pan or 10 inch iron skillet and spread the hamburger mixture in the bottom of the pan.  Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheese over the hamburger.

In a small bowl, mix the bisquick, milk, and eggs.  Whisk together until smooth.  Pour over the hamburger and cheese.  Sprinkle the last 1/2 cup of shredded cheese over your mixture.  Bake for 25 minutes.

Wondering if I could use gluten free bisquick and it turn out the same?

It is very versatile and always tastes amazing, no matter how you alter it.

Made this tonight minus bell pepper and it was amazingly simple and so yummy! Used cast iron to cook in and added all making this a one pan recipe. Thx!

Prepare the 1 batch Creamy Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes that make this casserole topping so wonderful. Or use your favorite mashed potatoes, or store bought. You&#39;ll need about 5-6 cups worth of mash.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C/Gas Mark 5) and grease a 1½ quart casserole dish or a 9x13 baking pan.

In a large skillet, cook 1 lb ground beef and ½ cup minced onion over medium high heat until ground beef is well browned and no longer pink (about 8-10 minutes). Stir in ½ tsp each, salt &amp; pepper and 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce to the ground beef, then the 32 oz green beans and 1 cup tomato sauce.

Cook the Ground Beef Filling

Combine then transfer into your dish as the base layer. Spoon 1 batch Creamy Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoesashed potatoes in mounds onto the ground beef mixture layer, spread evenly. Top with ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded.

Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted and the edges are slightly golden.

For the recipe 2X:
How much is 2-36oz can of green beans? 2 cans each 36oz? 2 cans totaling 36oz? 2 16oz cans of  green beans add up to 32oz. Where does the 36oz come from?
For the recipe 3X:
How much is 3-54oz can green beans? 3 cans each 54oz? 3 cans  totaling 54oz? 3 16 oz cans of green beans add up to 48oz total. Where does the 54oz come from?
Also, for all 1X, 2X, and 3X it says you can use 1 3/4 pounds of frozen green beans instead of canned?
