Super easy golden cheddar biscuits drizzled with garlic parsley butter. Make sure you have some company to enjoy these with, or you'll be tempted to eat them all!

Garlic Cheddar Biscuits

butter

garlic (minced)

parsley

Heart Smart Bisquick

3.5 oz shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (Cabot 50% reduced fat)

fat free milk

Preheat oven to 400°.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Melt butter in a small frying pan, add half the garlic and saute on low heat about 1 minute.

Remove from heat and add parsley.

In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix, cheddar cheese, and remaining garlic.

Stir in milk and mix (do not over mix).

Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls (1.5 oz each) onto prepared cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes.

Brush or drizzle biscuits with melted butter.

Bake for 5 more minutes, or until lightly browned on the bottom.

Drop Biscuits

butter (cold)

all-purpose flour

whole wheat pastry flour

baking powder (I recommend aluminum free)

salt

whole milk (or buttermilk)

plain Greek yogurt (I used nonfat)

honey

parmesan

Shredded sharp cheddar and ground black pepper

Shredded gruyere and finely chopped fresh rosemary or thyme

Dice

Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat to 450 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Dice the butter into small pieces and place it in the freezer while you prepare the other ingredients.

Whisk

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt. (If adding any herbs, garlic powder, or black pepper, do it here.)

Scatter

Scatter the cold butter pieces over the top. With a pastry blender (or my favorite, your fingers), cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Some pieces may be the size of small pebbles and others as large as peas.

In a separate bowl or large measuring cup, whisk together the milk, Greek yogurt, and honey until smoothly combined. Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients a little at a time, stirring lightly between additions. (If adding cheese, add it slowly as you add the milk.) Stop stirring as soon as the dough holds together. It will be very moist and seem wet.

Bake

Drop the batter by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet. I like to use a muffin scoop for this—you’ll have 9 large or 12(ish) more moderately sized biscuits total. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes, until the tops are golden and spring back lightly when touched. Enjoy warm.

Easy Drop Biscuits

Almost zero-fat, these delicious non-guilt biscuits are tender and fluffy. I have for years called these Zero Fat Biscuits but, due to an insignificant amount of fat in the flour, they are now called Almost Zero Low-Fat Biscuits. Just follow these easy step-by-step photo instructions.

Almost Zero Low-Fat Biscuits

flour

baking powder

baking soda

non-fat yogurt

Preheat oven to 400° convection or 425° regular.

Combine 2 cups AP flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well.

Add 1 1/4 cup nonfat yogurt. Fold in until all dry is incorporated. If you use Greek yogurt, you may need a tablespoon or so of milk.

The easiest is to do 8 drop biscuits. If you want to cut biscuits, spread the dough on a floured surface about 3/4 inches thick. You can cut six 2 1/2 inch biscuits or eight 2 inch biscuits.

Place your biscuits on a PAM sprayed baking pan.

Bake until golden brown. About 12-15 minutes.

These Healthy Biscuits are fluffy, tender, and almost fat-free, making them the ideal low-calorie biscuits for your healthy diet. Made with only non-fat yogurt and self-rising flour, these low-fat yogurt biscuits contain only 0.5 grams of fat and 137 calories each.

Healthy Biscuits

¼ cup non-fat regular or Greek yogurt

The easiest next step is to do 8-drop biscuits. If you want to cut biscuits, spread the dough on a floured surface about ¾ inches thick. Use a biscuit cutter and make six 2 ½ inch or eight 2-inch biscuits.

Place your biscuits (dropped or cut) on the prepared baking pan.

Be sure the oven is fully preheated for a good rise of the biscuits. Bake until golden brown—about 12-15 minutes.

This is a great recipe and so easy.  I sprinkle mine with a little Everything Bagel seasoning for extra flavor.

In the UK these are not biscuits , more of a scone texture.  They are simple to make and tasty. I think I'll use this recipe for a fruit or minced meat topping. Back to the search for biscuits.

Hi. This was a nice simple healthy biscuit recipe to follow. I tried this using low fat Almond vanilla yogurt. It was a hit with my family who are picky about their biscuits. They are used to butter in the dough. They told me these were good and they didn't miss it. Thank you!

This was a great recipe, and easy.  I have struggled for years with butter-based recipes and was never satisfied.  But these are great - soft and slightly chewy but I cooked them long enough to get a bit of crisp on the outside.  Nice.

My husband has wanted sausage gravy and biscuits for a bit , but i stick to a 1,200 cal daily diet , so this fits perfectly for both of us . 
The biscuits rose beautifully &amp; the pizza looks like deep dish ~ I wish I could post a pic .
I used Greek yogurt so I did add milk , the batter was so sticky to work with so floured hands often , I like to cut my biscuits rather than drop ~ probably just for the beauty of it if I’m being honest;)

These are wonderful. Thank you so much for this recipe. I used Greek yogurt and real buttermilk. Patted them out and cut with biscuit cutter handling the dough as little as possible  I’m from the south and learned how to make biscuits as a child without a recipe. I am passing this one in to my friends and family. It’s a winner.
