Fish Tacos {Crispy &amp; Healthy}

flour almond

tsp taco seasoning

garlic powder

cornstarch

tsp salt

black pepper (to taste)

tbsp avocado oil

corn tortillas

plain yogurt (2%+ fat)

mayo (I use avocado oil)

lime (juice of)

cayenne

Cabbage

Tomato

Avocado

Red onion

Cilantro

Dredging for fish: In a medium bowl, add flour, taco seasoning, garlic powder, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Stir and set aside.

Fish taco sauce: In a small bowl, add yogurt, mayo, lime juice, taco seasoning, cayenne and black pepper. Stir and set aside.

Toppings: Chop and prepare the toppings.

To cook fish: Preheat large ceramic non-stick skillet on medium-high heat and swirl 1 tbsp of oil. In batches, dredge pieces of fish in flour mixture and fry for 2-3 minutes per side or until crispy and brown. Fish cooks fast, so don&#039;t over cook. Do not overcrowd the skillet - helps to keep fish crispy. Remove onto a plate.

To assemble tacos: Warm tortillas in a cast iron skillet on high heat for 10 seconds per side and pressing on with spatula. Fill each tortilla with 3-4 pieces of fish, add toppings and drizzle with sauce. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings (please see suggestions in notes).

How to Make Fish Tacos

Sliced peppers and onion with Mahi (or your choice of fish) nestled on top and covered with a delicious and easy to make marinade!

Sheet Pan Mahi Fajitas

Mahi Fillets (or other white fish

red pepper

yellow pepper - sliced

onion

poblano pepper - sliced (jalapeno if you like heat!)

olive oil

chili powder

cumin

salt

pepper

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Line large baking sheet with parchment or foil.

Combine all marinade ingredients in small dish.  Reserve 2 tablespoons of marinade to brush on fish.

Toss chopped veggies in remaining marinade.

Spread onto prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes.

Brush fish fillets with reserved marinade and nestle on to par cooked veggies.

Bake for additional  15  minutes or until fish is firm to the touch and internal temp is 145 degrees.

Serve with corn or flour tortillas and all your favoriate fajita condiments!

Spicy Cod Fish Tacos with Cilantro Slaw and a Creamy Fish Sauce.

The Best Cod Fish Tacos

lb skinless cod fillet

tbsp oil

lemon juice

paprika

cayenne pepper

tsp cumin

greek yogurt

mayonnaise

Salt

purple cabbage, shredded

carrots, shredded

corn,

tbsp jalapenos, chopped

cilantro, chopped

tbsp greek yogurt

6-8 corn tortillas

To marinate the fish, combine oil, lemon juice, paprika, cayenne pepper, cumin, and salt. Add the fish fillet and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Meanwhile make the sauce by combining the yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice, paprika, and salt. Mix them until creamy and smooth and set aside.

Combine the “to make slaw” ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

Heat a skillet and place the marinated fish. Sear the fish and cook for 3-5 minutes until the fish is completely done. Remove the fish fillets to a plate and break them into chunks.

To assemble the tortillas; char the corn tortillas on an open flame. Place the tortilla on a plate, add some chunks of fish, add a tablespoon of slaw and drizzle the prepared sauce on top.

Garnish with jalapenos and cilantro before serving.

1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 3 or 4 chicken breasts

Sour Cream

Add the salsa, chicken broth, taco seasoning, and oil to the instant pot and give it a quick stir to combine. Add the chicken breasts to the instant pot and cook on manual high pressure for 15 minutes.

When the time is done, use the quick release option to release the pressure. You can also allow it to release naturally if desired. Shred chicken with two forks or shred with an electric mixer and give it a stir to combine.

1/2  cup chicken broth or water
1 tbsp olive oil
1.5 pounds 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts about 3 or 4 chicken breasts

Tortillas or taco shells Please use soft tortillas that have been charred over an open flame.

Instant Pot Chicken Tacos

A quick and easy way to enjoy the flavors of fish tacos and slaw!

Paleo Fish Taco Bowls (Whole30, GF + Dairy-Free)

lbs fish

tsp sea salt

tsp ground pepper

tbsp grass-fed butter ((or sub ghee or coconut oil))

cabbage, shredded

kale, chopped

lime, juice of

avocados, cubed

salt and pepper,

fresh cilantro, chopped

white rice ((optional))

Place all of the seasonings for the fish tacos in a small bowl and mix until they are evenly combined.

Place fish in a glass dish, and add the seasoning mix. Work the seasoning into the fish with your hands. Cover and place in the fridge. Let fish marinate for at least 15 minutes and up to 24 hours.

Make the slaw by placing cabbage, kale, lime juice, avocado, salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl and mix them up until the avocado gets a little broken down but stays mostly chunky. Set aside till you're ready to plate.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and let your butter, ghee or coconut oil heat up and melt in the pan. Transfer your fish to the heated skillet. Let the fish get to sizzling. Cook for 2-4 minutes.

Flip and cook for another 2-4 minutes. Turn your burner off once the fish is done. It will be flaky and you can break it up into smaller pieces in the pan.&nbsp;

Make your bowls. Start with the slaw in the bottom of your bowls, add optional rice and top with fish. Garnish with salsa and fresh cilantro. &nbsp;

Flaky Fish Tacos made with a quick Cilantro-Radish Salsa

cilantro (chopped)

green scallions (thinly sliced)

garlic (finely chopped)

jalapeno pepper

juice of 1/2 lime (plus more to taste)

salt and pepper (to taste)

avocado oil

garlic salt

chili powder (to taste)

lime juice (to garnish)

Cilantro-Radish Salsa

corn lettuce

To a medium bowl, add 1/3 cup fresh cilantro, Dandy Radish Ministicks®, scallions, garlic, and jalapeno. Gently mix to combine. Stir in the juice of 1/2 lime, and approx 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper. Mix well. Taste and season with additional lime juice, salt and/or pepper if desired. Can be made 1-2 days in advance.

To a small bowl or ramekin, combine cumin, garlic salt, salt, pepper and chili powder to make a spice blend. Sprinkle generously over cod and set aside (or season and then refrigerate until ready to prepare in skillet).

Heat a medium skillet on medium-high heat. Once warm, add in 1 TBSP avocado oil. Once hot, add seasoned cod and sear 3-4 minutes. If you flip fish and it resists, allow more time to cook. Once opaque and slightly charred in color, flip and sear 3-4 more minutes. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh lime juice. Using a fork, break apart cod into large chunks.

Assemble tortillas, lettuce cups or bowls with fresh cod, cilantro-radish salsa, cotija cheese, avocado and cabbage, if desired. Dig in.

Have you ever tried Orange Salsa? The fresh fruit salsa sends these fish tacos to the moon!

Fish Tacos with Orange Salsa

olive oil (divided)

onion powder

sea salt (to taste)

oranges (peeled, sectioned, and chopped)

orange juice

lime juice

jalapeno

red onion (finely chopped)

garlic (minced)

corn or flour tortillas

avocado (sliced)

radishes (thinly sliced)

Add all of the ingredients for the orange salsa to a bowl and stir well. Set aside until ready to use.

Prepare the Orange Salsa

Drizzle the fish with about 1 tablespoon of olive oil and use your hands to smear it over the full surface of the fish. In a small bowl, stir together the seasonings and sea salt. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the fish (it's okay if you don't use all of it). If marinating for a long period of time, place fish in a zip lock bag and refrigerate until ready to cook. 

Add the remaining olive oil (to a cast iron skillet and heat to medium-high. Once the skillet it fully hot, place the fish on it, skin-side up. Cook 3 to 5 minutes, or until golden-brown and crispy. Flip and cook an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through. (If using white fish, you can tell the fish is fully cooked when it's opaque, or the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F).

Prepare the Fish

Heat the tortillas and load them up with desired amount of avocado slices, fish and orange salsa. Top with sliced radishes and fresh cilantro, and serve!
