refrigerated chow mein noodles or dry spaghetti

tbsp. sesame oil

lb. boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1" pieces

oyster sauce

I don’t usually leave comments on recipes, but I like to go through them to see what others have done and tried and thought. So in the spirit of that - I thought I’d share my opinion because something happened that never usually happened. I made the recipe as suggested, but with substitutions from the poster.  I used beef instead of chicken (used extra stew beef I had and cut into little pieces. Marinated the beef as per the poster’s beef and broccoli recipe); I didn’t use cabbage but mushrooms and sweet peppers instead - everything else was done as per the recipe. My husband and I loved it! My husband generally likes me cooking, but he LOVED this. By the time I put our daughter to bed, he was sitting with a second bowl AND had packed a lunch. He NEVER packs lunch - he effectively called dibs on this dish. I’d made enough for 6 servings and all that’s left is enough for lunch for me tomorrow. I’ve tried many Asian dishes before and this is by far the most delicious! Thanks you for sharing and keep up the good work. I’ll be doing the beef and broccoli next!

Added extra ginger and garlic but still seemed kind of bland to me. I might try adding some onion the next time for more flavor and more veggies.

450 g boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 2.5cm pieces

60 mL low-sodium soy sauce

(120 grams) frozen podded edamame, thawed

This healthy noodle dish is deliciously low-fat with a great mix of Asian flavours- the perfect midweek supper

Stir-fried pork with ginger & honey

nests medium egg noodles

tsp cornflour

tbsp honey

sunflower oil

pork tenderloin,

ginger,

garlic cloves, finely chopped

green pepper, deseeded and sliced

mange tout

tsp sesame seed

Bring a pan of salted water to the boil and cook the noodles following pack instructions. Meanwhile, mix the cornflour with 1 tbsp water, then stir in the soy sauce and honey, and set aside.

Heat the oil in a wok over a high heat. Add the pork and cook for 2 mins until browned all over. Add the ginger, garlic, pepper and mangetout, and cook for a further 2 mins. Reduce the heat, then add the soy and honey mixture, stirring and cooking until the sauce bubbles and thickens. Divide the drained noodles between 2 bowls. Top with the pork and vegetables, and finish with a sprinkling of sesame seeds.

15-Minute Sesame Ginger Noodles

pack brown rice noodles (or regular rice noodles, about 8 ounces)

baby bok choy

green onion

Sesame seeds to top (optional)

tbsp light soy sauce (gluten-free if needed)

maple syrup

tsp sesame oil

tsp crushed red chillis

Wash your bok choy, and chop into quarters. Set aside.

In a small bowl, mix your sauce ingredients together, and set aside.

Boil your rice noodles according to package directions, until soft.

In a saucepan on medium heat, pour your sauce in and allow to begin to cook, 1-2 minutes.

Next add in your bok choy and green onion, mixing well.

Reduce heat to low and add in your rice noodles.

I can't deal with how delicious/easy this recipe was!!!

Great recipe!  I normally like spice but this has a good kick to it!  Next time I will do less red pepper!

Made this today but had no soy sauce: used fish sauce. Worked ok. Needed more seasoning so will definitely amp up the ginger paste perhaps... and buy some soy sauce.

Added edamame,  mushrooms,  and spinach and cyanne pepper. We really enjoyed it, made it three times now. Thanks!

I made this tonight for my SIL who is allergic to everything and it was fantastic! We are out of sesame oil so I just toasted the sesame seeds in the pot first, then added the sauce and cooked together. It was perfect! My cousin’s wife is allergic to sesame (I was unaware until tonight) so she mentioned reading that pumpkin seed oil is a great substitute, so we’ll probably try that too. I think I’d like to try it with zoodles or spaghetti squash, too!

This recipe is becoming my new staple! So easy to make and my taste buds are very satisfied! I added brocoli and red pepper so I have leftovers for tomorrow. 
I have to admit I'm a bit lazy in the kitchen but I still want delicious food which seems almost impossible sometimes. With this recipe I have proof that I don't have to waiste my money on Uber eats to get a delicious, healthy, simple comfy food.

Great recipe. I am currently sick with a cold and pregnant. The dr said to eat lots of garlic and ginger, this was a great way to do it and was delicious. 

This recipe is so great for an end of week leftover fridge cleanout! I just grab whatever leftover protein and veggies need to be eaten and toss them in. We love it!!

Nice and easy with a decent amount of heat.  I added broccoli at the tail end of the noodle boil and then stir fried some orange peppers in  the sauce.  Such a versatile sauce.  It is a keeper.

15 minute sesame ginger noodles

Quick and flavorful spicy garlic noodles with shiitakes and a soft-boiled egg. Ready in just 15 minutes, this recipe elevates noodles with a garlic-soy sauce, chili sauce, and seared shiitakes. Add scallions for freshness and an explosive flavor!

Spicy Garlic Shiitake Noodles

instant ramen noodles

shiitakes

garlic

tsp grated ginger

tsp crushed red chili flakes

tsp peppercorns

vegetable oil

unsalted butter

eggs (soft-boiled)

tbsp sesame seeds (for serving)

scallions (finely chopped, more for serving)

tbsp toasted sesame oil

tomato paste

mirin (or 2 tbsp rice vinegar)

tbsp oyster sauce

tsp sambal oelek (more if you like it super hot)

brown sugar

combining

Combine the ingredients for the sauce in a small bowl.

Add water to a small sauce pan, once boiling, add eggs, boil for 6 minutes. Run under cool water, set aside.

Cook the noodles according to package directions until just al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup cooking water, and run the noodles under cool water to stop the cooking.

In the meantime prepare the shiitakes: In a large skillet, heat the oil until shimmering over high. Add shiitakes, cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Lower the heat, add garlic, ginger, chili flakes and Sichuan pepper. Cook for 2 minutes. Add butter, stir until it melts. Stir in scallions and season with black pepper.

Add the sauce, bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in noodles and 1/4 cup water. Simmer, tossing occasionally, until sauce begins to cling to noodles, about 30 seconds.

serving

Divide noodles among plates, top with a soft-boiled egg, sesame seeds and chopped scallions. Add more sambal if you can handle the heat, enjoy!

Kinda too salty and we used low sodium soy sauce. Would probably add more ginger next time as well. But everyone ate it! And the eggs were spot on!!

This came out really good! I used coconut aminos instead of soy sauce as I wanted my dish to be gluten and soy free. I also used gluten free udon noodles. It tastes great and I have some left over for lunch during the week. Thanks for the recipe!

The exceeded my expectations. My family loved it! Followed recipe mostly….swapped coconut aminos for soy sauce and left out the spicy stuff for the kids. Hubby and I added sriracha and it was flavorful, delicious, filling and a repeat recipe, for sure. Thank you!!!

This is legit the first time I ever comment on a recipe and I'm only doing it cause the first review it's very unfair. The recipe is fantastic! unfortunately I cannot find Sichuan peppercorns here, but I add some kechap manis sauce and any veggies I have (round green beans pair very nicely ) and I usually fry the egg.
I jut think that the recipe is a good base and then you go on and make adjustments according to your taste and available ingredients. Keep up the good work!

This recipe was wonderful! We replaced oyster sauce with fish sauce because we didn't have oyster sauce and it worked really well! I'm really happy with the flavor - spicy enough to make your nose run a little (but you can of course make it less spicy if you want) - but not spicy enough to not taste the flavor. Great recipe!

Loved this!! Very flavorful and delicious recipe. I made this exactly as the recipe says and it was great. Not too salty in my opinion (as a previous reviewer said) I think it's helpful to make sure you're using dark soy sauce and not light soy sauce because light soy sauce tastes saltier (if you are using light soy sauce I'd probably half the amount). I will be stretching the leftovers out with some bok choy for lunch!

This was outstanding! Threw in some thinly sliced steak, and didn’t have any Sichuan peppercorns handy, but otherwise made it exactly as directed. Super flavorful sauce, especially with a little extra sambal (the fam likes it spicy). Definitely will be making again- often!

I've been looking for that take-out flavor and texture in a recipe that is easy, but doesn't skip what makes it good. This is that recipe. Given, I did use a different noodle (soba) that wasn't the best choice, but everything else was in place perfectly. The sauce was a little thicker, slightly spicy and had amazing flavor. Loved that I can make this meatless with the mushrooms and even added some green beans I needed to use. I love the versatility to it and appreciate the solid foundation that gives everything you need to build on. Will be making this over and over again and so thankful I found this recipe!
