Homemade Electrolyte Drink

herbal tea, water, or coconut water

pink Himalayan salt

raw honey ((or maple syrup, to taste))

¼ cup lemon or lime juice

calcium/magnesium powder ((optional))

Start making your homemade electrolyte drink by brewing the tea and letting it cool slightly; or, slightly warm your alternative base liquid.

Add salt, sweetener, and calcium magnesium powder (if using). Mix to dissolve.

Add juice. Mix and taste. Adjust juice or sweetness levels as desired.

On a sweaty summer day or after a hard workout, nothing beats this homemade gatorade. Each flavor is packed with fresh fruit juice for flavor, coconut water for electrolytes, and a touch of salt for more electrolyte-boosting refreshment.

Homemade Gatorade

oz coconut water

oz unsweetened tart cherry juice

oz unsweetened pineapple juice

oz unsweetened cranberry juice

oz agave or honey

salt

oz lime juice

oz unsweetened orange juice

Optional (for color): 0.5 oz unsweetened cranberry juice

oz unsweetened blueberry juice

Whisk together all ingredients for each flavor in a large measuring cup or medium sized mixing bowl. Using a vessel with a spout will make transferring to bottles much easier.

Transfer to bottles (or jars), secure with a lid, let them chill in the fridge, and enjoy!

I wanted to find a natural substitute for the Gatorade “required” for colonoscopy prep and landed here. While I had to avoid pulp and anything red, purple, or blue, I used your ratios and honey only.
