In a mug, pour the hot water over the tea bag and steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Squeeze the tea bag and discard.

Pour the tea, whisky, lemon juice, and maple syrup in to a liquid measuring glass, stir, and pour into 2 serving mugs or glasses.

Adjust sweetener to taste. Serve with desired garnishes.

O Organics Unfiltered Apple juice

O Organics Teabags Chai Spice

O Organics Almond Milk

Apple slices and cinnamon sticks

In a small saucepan, combine the apple juice and teabags. Bring to a simmer then turn off the heat.

Allow the teabags to steep for 10 minutes, then remove.

Stir in the almond milk, sugar and rum, stirring until dissolved.

Divide the mixture among two mugs.

Garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks, if desired.

Serve immediately.

Spiced Cinnamon Bourbon Hot Toddy

tsp red pepper flake

Lemon wedge + cinnamon stick ((for garnish))

Add maple syrup, water, cinnamon sticks, chili, and red pepper flakes to a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Then remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes - 1 hour (or longer). Strain and pour into a glass jar for serving.

To make a single toddy, add the juice of half a lemon, 3-4 Tbsp Chili Cinnamon Maple Simple Syrup, 2 ounces bourbon, and hot water to top (use less water for a stronger drink, more water for a weaker drink).

Garnish with another cinnamon stick and lemon slice or wedge and serve. The longer it steeps the stronger the cinnamon, lemon flavor becomes.

Repeat for more drinks or make a large batch to serve a crowd by simply multiplying ingredients by number of drinks you need.

Add all ingredients (except apple slices) to a large pot or dutch oven and simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes.

Use a ladle or measuring cup to serve into mugs, then garnish each mug with a cinnamon stick and thinly sliced apple round. Cheers!

In a 6 ounce mug, combine bourbon, honey and lemon juice. Top with hot water.

Cinnamon Spiced Hot Toddy

sugar

cinnamon (2-3 sticks)

cardamom pods

¾ oz Cinnamon Cardamom Simple Syrup

Cinnamon Stick (optional)

Firepot Soul Revival sachet

1.5 oz Scotch (your favorite, though a medium-peat Scotch is recommended)

Add sugar to water over high heat and stir to dissolve

When water boils, lower to simmer

Add Cinnamon and Cardamom

Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring intermittently

Pour syrup through strainer

Remove from heat and let cool. Syrup holds for 10 days when refrigerated.

(Optional mug prep) Char cinnamon stick until it begins to flame and smoke.  Place under upside-down mug.

Add Soul Revival to off-the-boil water, steep for 4 minutes in teapot.

Add Scotch to teapot.

Add Cinnamon Cardamom Simple Syrup to teapot.

Stir mixture.

Flip mug over, pour cocktail into mug, and enjoy!

rooibos tea bags ((or sub chai tea))

bourbon (we love Bulleit Rye Whiskey)

Add apple juice, water, lemon, cinnamon stick, fresh ginger, ground ginger, and salt + pepper to a small saucepan and heat over medium high heat. Bring to a simmer, then turn off heat and add rooibos tea bags. Steep for 10-12 minutes, still on the stove (heat turned off).

Sample and adjust flavor as needed, adding cayenne and/or bourbon at this time. If you find it needs more sweetness, add coconut sugar or maple syrup (optional).

Remove tea bags and divide between two (amount as original recipe is written // adjust if altering batch size) serving glasses, with additional slices of lemon. Serve hot.

Best when fresh, though leftovers will keep covered well in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave.

I made this for a family gathering and it was a hit. (Actually, most of the recipes I make for family is from this site. Haven’t had a bad recipe yet. ?) Anyway, I modified the recipe a bit, mostly putting in less ginger, less rooibos tea, and less water. I did not include alcohol or the cayenne either. This was so tasty and would definitely make this again, especially on rainy, cold nights.

Perfect drink for a cold fall evening. The drink starts out with a nice sweetness and ends with a little tinge of spice from the cinnamon and ginger. Will definitely be making a double batch the second time around!

These are amazing, definitely a keeper. Just right for these colder than usual Oregon days.

This is very similar to a drink my mom always made at the holidays - but hers used cranberry juice instead of the rooibos tea.  Good, but very sweet.  I made the first batch exactly as written.  It was really good, very spicy with the ginger and black pepper, but still a bit too sweet for our taste buds.  Made a second batch yesterday with the following revisions: 3 cups of water, ½ cup apple juice, 3 ‘hot apple cider’ tea bags, 3 rooibos tea bags, added 2 whole cloves and 1 tsp. raw honey to each giant mug.  Oh, and of course we included the booze!  Just what we were looking for!  Same spicy, warm goodness, but not as sweet.  This is our new favorite warm drink for winter!  We just got our first snow of the year last night, so you know I’ll be making a batch (or 2) tonight!  Thanks for another awesome recipe!!

In a mug, add the hot water and tea bag. Steep the tea based on the recommended time on the package.&nbsp;

Remove the tea bag (if you'd like) and add in the honey, give it a quick stir to help it dissolve.&nbsp;

Top off with the liquor and lemon juice, stir to combine and finish with a fresh slice of lemon.

It's 4am and I should be asleep, but I woke up with horrible congestion and a very sore throat! Pinterest to the rescue. I knew of this remedy for year but needed the measurements. This is well done and the added ingredient of tea is smart I have a mango vitamin c one I use packs a extra punch and tasted great with the honey whiskey I have. Only thing I did different and helps when I'm not feeling well is ginger gives it a bit of spice to help knock out your symptoms more. Thanks and good luck to everyone else feeling icky this winter.

I made this tonight and it’s amazing! Tea? Who would have thought? I used an apple cinnamon tea bag, and it was perfection!

Ok my husband usually makes me the hot toddy but he was outside working and I have a bad sore throat so I Pinterested of course. I just messaged my husband and said “Sorry if I hurt your feelings Babe, but I’ve trumped your Hot Toddy. Lol This was awesome and I’m not a fan of Hot Toddy’s. Tea is a brilliant idea and the lemon makes it even better.

I swear Hot Toddies can make even the grumpiest of sickies better!  First one I ever had knocked my socks off (thanks to my ex-MIL's Lithuanian whisky) and I've since used it whenever the throat acts up.
