This keto bbq sauce delivers a bold tangy-sweet taste up front bolstered with onion and garlic, then finishes with a gentle heat on the back of the tongue. No added sugars!

Tangy, Bold Keto BBQ Sauce

oz tomato paste (in a 6 oz can) ((170 g))

water tomato

apple cider vinegar (use the can to measure) ((3 oz/ 85 g))

red wine vinegar

Low carb brown sugar

onion ((2 oz/ 57 g))

tsp minced garlic ((1 large clove))

cloves

thyme

tsp chipotle pepper

tsp Hickory Liquid Smoke

Worcestershire sauce

tsp salt

tsp black pepper

butter

Add the first 10 ingredients into a medium saucepan and simmer for 45 minutes (or longer if you prefer a thicker sauce).

Measure the remaining ingredients into the BBQ sauce and blend with a stick blender (or use a blender) until smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings. Taste the next day and adjust further as it will mellow upon cooling. This results in a tangy sauce. (SEE BELOW FOR A VARIATION.)

Cool completely, pour into a clean air tight container, and refrigerate up to 10 days.

VARIATION: Saute the onions and garlic in 1 tbsp butter until softened, then add the rest of the ingredients. Add the remaining butter after cooking. This results in a more mellow flavored sauce.

Makes 2 1/2 - 3 cups. Serving size is 2 tbsp and is 1 net carb per serving.

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.

Place on stove over medium heat and lightly simmer for 5 minutes.

Allow to cool and jar or put in a serving dish

Find a small mixing bowl and add your 1/2 Cup of Reduced Sugar Ketchup.

Add your Louisiana Hot Sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder. Mix well.

Add some extra cayenne pepper if it isn't hot enough. I like my BBQ sauce tangy and full of heat

Add a little bit of mustard. I usually go with 2 tsp., but test it before you add too much.

Keep mixing it until all lumps are out and it is up to your taste.

In a medium saucepan over medium low heat, whisk together all of the ingredients except the chipotle powder and the salt and pepper.

Bring to a simmer and cook 3 to 5 minutes, until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 tsp of the chipotle powder. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired.

Store in a glass jar in the fridge. It will keep for several weeks.

Heat on stove, stirring constantly to make sure it doesn’t stick or burn or boil over and to make sure the sweetener is completely dissolved and smooth

When cooled off enough place BBQ sauce in your jar or container to store it in your refrigerator

This sweet and tangy keto BBQ sauce tastes just like the real deal. The base is my keto ketchup recipe, along with spices, vinegar, and the best sugar free brown sugar. This BBQ sauce will keep in the fridge for 3 days and the flavor is fantastic.

Make the BBQ sauce by adding all the ingredients to a medium size pot and bring to a low simmer. Cook for 45 minutes, stirring often. Check for seasoning, you may need more brown sugar substitute. To make the sauce extra smooth, blend or use a hand blender for 30 seconds. Sauce will keep in the fridge for 3 weeks and tastes even better the next day. Recipe makes 12 ounces of BBQ sauce.
